From porch scapes to unique décor, The Checkered Door creates cozy...inside & out. Online shopping can feel exhausting when everything looks the same.
Founded by two friends who thrive on customer service and thoughtful design, this Decatur boutique blends harmony and warmth. About The Checkered Door
Something new is coming to Decatur — a touch of home décor, a pinch of whimsical design, and a whole lot of heart. That’s why The Checkered Door was created. Shopping locally means walking into a space owned by two friends who thrive on customer service and specialize in unique, one-of-a-kind home décor and services. To Amy & Diana, The Checkered Door is more than just a name — it’s a symbol of balance. The classic checkered pattern represents harmony: light and dark, warm and cool, simple and bold. When you walk through the door, you step into a boutique where balance, beauty, and everyday comfort come together. A place built on friendship, creativity, and community. A place where your home can feel more like you.

The Checkered Door will be closing early tomorrow, October 28, at 4 PM for a private event. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Flowers don’t always have to follow the calendar. 🌷
One of the things we love about faux florals is the freedom to decorate with what you love, whenever you love it. A favorite arrangement can change with the season, the room, or simply your mood.
And yes, we fully support tulips in December.
Linens pressed, candles lit, a centerpiece in the middle. Your guests will stay long after the pie is gone.
Set a beautiful fall table with serveware, linens and florals from our shop.
