Customer contacted me to repair collision damage to the passenger side door and fender of her 2011 Dodge Avenger. To help minimize repair costs, I sourced quality used replacement parts with matching factory paint codes, eliminating the need for more expensive new parts and additional painting expenses.

I traveled to the customer’s apartment and completed the repairs on site in the parking lot, providing convenient, cost effective service without requiring the customer to arrange transportation to a body shop. During the repair, I also replaced the passenger-side fender liner, which had previously been improperly secured using screws and a floor mat rather than the correct part.

By sourcing affordable, color matched parts and completing the work on site, I was able to save the customer a substantial amount of money while restoring the vehicle’s damaged areas. The customer was very pleased with the completed work and the overall service provided.

Customer contacted me because she was experiencing a loss of power steering in her 2007 Kia Sportage. Upon inspection, the low-pressure power steering hose was leaking fluid under pressure. Further inspection revealed that the high-pressure power steering hose was also in poor condition and required replacement.

Vehicle was picked up from the customer’s residence using my trailer and transported to my shop to utilize the vehicle lift for proper repair access. Both the low-pressure and high-pressure power steering hoses were replaced, and the system was refilled with the appropriate power steering fluid.

Upon completion, the power steering system was checked and confirmed to be functioning properly.

Responded to a customer’s apartment to perform an on-site fuel pump replacement on a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria. The repair was completed in the apartment parking lot. The customer had previously received a repair quote exceeding $900. Homefront Motors completed the repair for approximately one-third of that quoted price, providing a convenient, affordable, and reliable solution while helping the customer save significantly on repair costs.

Recently, I performed a driver-side window repair on a 2006 Chevrolet Impala. Upon removing the door panel, I found that the window regulator/track had broken and the window had been improperly supported with a block of wood inside the door.

I sourced and installed a new window track, removed the makeshift wood support, and reassembled the door. The driver-side window was tested through multiple cycles and is now operating properly and securely.

Recently, I completed a front brake replacement on a customer’s 2006 Honda Odyssey. During the final inspection and test drive, I noticed a grinding noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Further inspection revealed a seized driver side rear caliper, causing uneven rear braking and excessive brake pad wear. The pads were completely worn down to the metal and grinding against the rotor.

To help keep the repair affordable, I sourced a quality used replacement caliper and replaced the rear brakes and rotors. After completing the repairs and bleeding the system, the braking system was thoroughly inspected and the vehicle was test driven to verify proper operation. The Odyssey is now operating safely and back on the road.

A customer contacted me after her daughter’s Dodge Dart broke down in the parking lot at CVS. Upon arrival, I quickly inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the issue as a cracked upper radiator hose at the T-connection, a known common failure point on Dodge Dart cooling systems.

I sourced and purchased a brand-new replacement upper radiator hose, installed it on-site, refilled and properly bled the cooling system, and thoroughly tested the vehicle to ensure the repair was functioning correctly and there were no additional cooling system issues.

By providing mobile emergency service, I was able to get the vehicle back on the road without the need for a tow and helped the customer avoid what could have been a significantly more expensive repair bill at another shop.

Customer contacted Homefront Motors regarding a 2003 Ford F-350 dump truck with a dump body that would not raise.

I responded to the customer’s location and performed a complete diagnostic of the dump body’s electrical and hydraulic operating system. Testing confirmed that the hydraulic pump and motor were functioning properly. Further electrical testing identified a failed hydraulic solenoid caused by a short in the control wiring.

Upon inspection, the control wiring and splice connections were found to have extensive corrosion, resulting in a poor electrical connection and ultimately damaging the solenoid.

I sourced and installed a replacement solenoid, repaired and secured the damaged control wiring using weather-resistant heat-shrink butt connectors, and added protective heat-shrink covering to help prevent future corrosion and moisture intrusion.

The system was fully tested after repairs, and the dump body is now operating properly and raising as designed.

2014 BMW 428i Transfer Case Replacement

This 2014 BMW 428i came in needing a complete transfer case replacement. I ordered all of the necessary parts and got to work removing the exhaust system, heat shields, transmission support/mount, and the necessary components to access and remove the original transfer case.

Once the old transfer case was removed, the extent of the failure became clear. The internal shaft was severely rusted, and a large amount of rusty debris came out of the transfer case. The unit also had very little fluid remaining inside, which contributed to the failure.

I installed the replacement transfer case, transferred the original control module, refilled the unit with the proper fluid, and completed the necessary calibration. Everything was reassembled, inspected, and road-tested with no warning lights. Another repair completed correctly and back on the road!

Today, I was contacted by a customer experiencing unusual noise coming from the front brake system of her 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. I traveled directly to her home and performed a thorough inspection of the front braking system. During the inspection, I found that the brake pads had been completely worn down to the metal, allowing the backing material to make direct contact with the brake rotors. This condition was causing the reported noise and had significantly compromised the condition of the front brake components.

I replaced both front brake rotors and brake pads, restoring the braking system to proper operating condition. While performing the repair, I also identified that the front sway bar links were missing. I brought this additional safety concern to the customer’s attention, sourced the necessary replacement sway bar links, and installed them as part of the service. This restored the missing components and helped return the front suspension and braking system to proper working order.

The entire repair was completed conveniently at the customer’s home while she was at work, eliminating the need for her to arrange transportation or take time away from her day to visit a repair facility. At Homefront Motors, I strive to provide professional, reliable mobile automotive service while identifying additional safety concerns and addressing them before they become bigger problems.

Today, I serviced a Nissan Murano that was experiencing issues with the front axle and front brake sensor system. After inspecting the vehicle, I determined that the front axle needed to be replaced due to a torn boot. To help keep the repair as affordable as possible for the customer, I sourced a quality used replacement axle rather than requiring the customer to purchase a new assembly. The replacement axle was installed and properly secured.

During the repair, I also inspected the front brake sensors and discovered an unusual installation issue with both front sensors. Both sensors had been improperly installed and were pinched between the wheel bearing and related components, which had caused the sensors to become damaged and unable to function properly. This was not a normal or correct method of installation and required the damaged sensors to be removed and replaced.

I installed new front brake sensors and properly routed and secured them to prevent interference or damage. After completing the repairs, the system was tested to verify proper operation. The vehicle is now back in service with the front axle replaced and the brake sensor system functioning as it should.

Another repair completed with a focus on doing the job correctly while also finding cost-effective solutions to help the customer get their vehicle safely back on the road.
