217 LAW® is now officially a federally registered trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office!

A trademark is important because it helps protect a business's name and brand identity, provides legal protection against others using confusingly similar names or branding, and safeguards the reputation that a business works hard to build.

While we don't practice trademark law ourselves (it's a highly specialized area of law!), we're always happy to connect businesses of all sizes with good attorneys who do! 😀

We finally got everyone together for a potluck lunch to celebrate Boss's Day! 🥳

Courtney and Zach attended the Maximum Lawyer Conference (MaxLawCon) last week and somehow managed to take only one picture between them, which was a view of the Atlanta Braves stadium from their hotel. Fortunately, we found a picture of the back of their heads on , so we can at least prove they were there!

MaxLawCon brings together attorneys, law firm owners, and legal vendors from across the country. The focus is on helping lawyers build better law firms through education, collaboration, and shared ideas.

We're always looking for ways to improve and better serve our clients, and they came home with plenty of new ideas that we're excited to put into practice! ⚖️

We're proud to have recently obtained a confidential seven-figure settlement for one of 217 Law's very first clients! ⚖️

We're incredibly happy for our client. While we understand that no amount of money can undo what happened, recoveries like this provide financial security and peace of mind, helps with future medical treatment, and offers some closure after an extremely traumatic experience.

🎉 Corinne celebrated her birthday this weekend!

Corinne is someone who makes everything and everybody around her a little better. She cares deeply about our clients, takes pride in what she does, is always there when one of us needs something, and brings a whole lot of personality and laughter to the office. She’s a big part of 217 Law, and we’re grateful she’s along for the ride. Outside of work, she stays busy with her family, gardening, and raising an unreasonable number of chickens. 🐔🐔🐔

Happy Labor Day from 217 Law! 🇺🇸

Labor Day is a chance to recognize the people who go to work every day and help keep our communities moving. It's a day to appreciate the work they do, the things they build, and the people and families they provide for. And hopefully, it's also a chance to enjoy a well-earned day off!

One of the things we do at 217 Law is represent people who suffer injuries at work, which provides us with the unique opportunity to meet hard-working people doing just about every kind of job imaginable across Central Illinois. And with Zach having spent a couple of years as a union construction worker before attending law school, there's a little firsthand appreciation around here for what a hard day's work actually looks like.

Our office is closed today so we can enjoy the holiday. We'll be back tomorrow. Happy Labor Day! 💪
