As we stand one day away from celebrating 63 years of Iota Phi Theta, we honor Most Honorable Founder Elias Augustus “Tink” Dorsey Jr., affectionately known as the “Godfather of Iota.” 🔥

A Baltimore native, civic servant, and dedicated Brother, Most Honorable Founder Dorsey’s commitment to Iota extended far beyond September 19, 1963. Through national service, personal sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to the Brotherhood, he helped strengthen the Fraternity he and eleven other extraordinary men brought to life at Morgan State College.

Known by those closest to him as the “Quiet Storm,” his impact spoke through his actions and his devotion to Iota.

Tomorrow is the day Brothers 🌟!

Brotherhood, community, and a room full of folks who knew how to close out the summer right.

From DJ Rampage to Groovy Groove Band, the soundtrack kept the floor in motion.

We gave them plenty to sip and savor. Crafted cocktails, live cooking, fresh hand-rolled ci**rs, and good energy.

Our guests came ready to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the evening.

The 4th Annual End of Summer Social was a whole mood. The energy was already in motion before the night really got started.

Two days remain until Founder’s Day. 🌟🐎!

As September 19 draws closer, Project Candle Burn continues by honoring Most Honorable Founder Charles Gregory, a military veteran, Morgan State College graduate, public servant, and one of the twelve visionary men who established Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, Most Honorable Founder Gregory eventually made his way to Baltimore, where his relationships with Most Honorable Founder Lonnie Spruill Jr., Most Honorable Founder Frank Coakley, and Most Honorable Founder Elias Dorsey Jr. began as early as grade school. Those lifelong bonds would later become part of the foundation of our Brotherhood. ✊🏾

Most Honorable Founder Gregory entered Morgan as a military veteran, bringing maturity, discipline, and life experience to a group of men who would forever change the course of September 19, 1963. Following Morgan, he continued his commitment to service through his career with the United States government.

Today, we remember a life defined by service, education, friendship, and Brotherhood.

Two days remain. The candles continue to burn. 🕯️
