Decatur High School Cross Country - Decatur, Al

2026 Sectional Meet is in the books. Every one of our Raiders fought hard, and we are thrilled that Sophie-Paige Lamp and Jack Youngblood were able to qualify for the AHSAA State Meet at the Oakville Indian Mounds next Saturday, November 7th. The 5A Girls will race at 8:30 AM, and the 5A Boys will race at 9:50 AM.

We had several PRs yesterday, but some breaks not go our way and that is racing. Proud of this young team and all that they accomplished this year!

Also, big thanks to Coach Dean, Decatur High Administrators, Marvin Chou with Decatur City Schools, and all of our athletes and parents for their help with hosting Sectionals.

Race schedule for tomorrow’s sectional meet. We are honored to host this and we hope to see a good crowd come out and support our athletes!

Our team has had three races in the past 10 days. Today was the NW Championship that marks the end of the regular season for us. Good performances and improvements by our boys and girls teams heading into Sectionals, which we will host next Thursday afternoon at Pt Mallard

Our annual XC meet that was scheduled for Saturday, October 10th has been postponed until Tuesday, October 13th due to the inclement weather forecasted for Saturday. Races will now take place in the afternoon from 3-6 PM at Point Mallard Park.

Good job by our team tonight with several new personal and season best performances. Great job Raiders!

XC is back! Good start to the season today for our young men and women.

Varsity Girls finished 7th overall, with Sara Reed Thompson leading the girls with a 21st place overall out of 151 runners.

Varsity Boys finished 13th overall with Jack Youngblood scoring the top finish with a time of 18:55. Our JH boys ran later in the morning and gained some great experience today. It was the first ever XC meet for each of them.

Next weekend we travel to Oxford to run in the Yellow Jacket Invitational. Go Raiders!
