A special occasion for PCFR: Five Chief Officers (Division Chief Kevin New, Division Chief Nick Pullen - not pictured, Battalion Chief Chris Robinson, Battalion Chief Mike Lewis, and Battalion Chief Josh Collier) have received the distinguished designation of Chief Fire Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).

No easy feat, these gentlemen submitted themselves, their professional experience and credentials to be vetted and reviewed by CPSE as a professional credentialing organization to select them amongst the prestige of the title Chief Fire Officer beyond the department. A statement that grants them recognition as such across the nation and beyond.

Great work Chiefs!

Last month, FF Taylor and SGT Edwards successfully completed the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Course.

Attending this course demonstrates their desires to stay on the forefront of tactical medicine and to continue honing their skills as Firefighters and medical care providers! Great job.

Recently, Engine 10 and Metro EMS unit 805 on our C-shift, responded to the report of a medical emergency. Mrs. Johnson, who is pictured above, found her husband collapsed in their yard while doing yard work.

Excellent medical care was provided by all of the pictured personnel. Her husband is at home and recovering well.

What really stood out to Mrs. Johnson, is that as Metro 805 was transporting her husband, Engine 10’s crew remained on the scene and finished raking the leaves in the yard and cleaning up his tools. They went above and beyond! Great work.

Thank you for visiting with us! It is our honor to serve and protect our Paulding County.

Yesterday morning, our recruits crossed the line between training and becoming Probationary Firefighters.

Our recruit class finished a simulation of a real 24-hour shift, filled with events reflecting a typical day in the fire service. Their final challenge came after very little sleep - awakened to an unknown assignment, each recruit had to complete an individual victim search across three divisions.

On the other side stood their instructors and classmates, ready to embrace them. Then came the ceremonial burning of their recruit uniform shift and the donning of the Firefighter shirt—a moment commemorating everything they had worked to become.

Soon to be Probationary Firefighter Shaw is pictured here, but this photograph tells a story for every recruit in this class. The exhaustion. The relief. The pride. Everything it took to reach this moment.

I had the honor of standing there when it happened, and I had a hard time holding back my own tears. Pride, joy, memories of my own journey—all of it came together.

To our newest Probationary Firefighters: You earned this. I hope you carry the meaning of this morning with you throughout your careers.

I am proud of every one of you!

A first for Paulding County Fire & Rescue!

Congratulations to Lt. Logan Pilgrim and Firefighter/Paramedic Cheyenne Harper on successfully completing the SOARescue Tactical Medical Practitioner (TMP) Program—the first PCFR personnel to achieve this accomplishment.

Throughout the demanding 82-hour course, they demonstrated their ability to apply Tactical Emergency Casualty Care guidelines in simulated high-threat environments. This specialized training strengthens their ability to provide lifesaving care under challenging conditions.

Thank you both for your dedication to serving and protecting our community. Job well done!
