COYE is dedicated to identifying, supporting, and advocating for youth caregivers- young people who provide care and support to a parent, grandparent, sibling, or loved one affected by illness, disability, aging, mental health challenges, or chronic health conditions. While millions of youth caregivers exist across the United States, many remain unrecognized and unsupported.
Through awareness campaigns, professional training, community outreach, respite programming, research, advocacy, and direct support services, COYE is building a movement to ensure youth caregivers and their families receive the recognition, resources, and support they deserve.
Ongoing Community Impact Initiatives

These programs bring together youth caregivers, families, educators, healthcare providers, community organizations, policymakers, and advocates to raise awareness, improve access to resources, and strengthen support systems across our communities.

“What About Me?”
Supporting Siblings in Families Impacted by Disability

Join us for this month’s Let’s Talk Monthly Webinar, an engaging and supportive online conversation designed to bring caregivers, parents, family members, and professionals together to discuss real-life challenges and practical solutions.

This month, we will explore an important topic affecting many families:
Are you a parent of a child with a disability while also caring for other children in the home?
Have you ever heard your child say:
“What About Me?”

Balancing the needs of a child with a disability while ensuring siblings feel seen, heard, and supported can be challenging. Siblings often experience a wide range of emotions, including guilt, resentment, frustration, anger, disappointment, confusion, and hurt. Yet their experiences are frequently overlooked.

During this interactive discussion, we will explore:
How parents can create intentional one-on-one time with siblings
Understanding the emotional experiences of siblings of children with disabilities
Strategies to strengthen family relationships and communication
Resources and support available for families navigating these challenges
Opportunities to share experiences and learn from others
Whether you are a parent, caregiver, family member, educator, or service provider, this conversation offers valuable insights, support, and practical tools.
