For more than three decades, wildlife filmmaker and National Geographic explorer Casey Anderson has walked toward what others fear: grizzlies, mountain lions, tigers, and more.

Join us for the third night of our Changemaker Speaker Series on Thursday, October 29, when Anderson takes the Blackhawk Museum stage with Among Wild Predators.

The Emmy-nominated filmmaker has built a career in the field, with work appearing on Nat Geo WILD, BBC, PBS, and Discovery. In this presentation, he demystifies the predators we fear most, revealing them as mirrors of our own courage and will to survive. A Q&A follows.

Twenty-five years ago, the world changed in a matter of moments.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 souls lost on September 11, 2001—and the countless families, friends, first responders, survivors, and communities who carried the weight of that day, and whose lives it would color forever.

These photographs, made by Changemaker Stephen Wilkes in the aftermath at Ground Zero, and on the 9th anniversary of the attacks bear witness to a place transformed by unimaginable loss, and to moments that would reshape our country and our world.

A quarter century later, we pause to honor those who were lost, to thank those who ran toward danger to help others, and to reflect on all that changed that cloudless September morning.

We remember.

We’re excited to welcome Melanie Curtis (Melanie Curtis) to the Changemaker Talent speaker community.

What if the biggest barrier to your next level isn’t talent or ambition, but the way you’re approaching opportunity?

A world-record professional skydiver, peak performance coach, and author, Melanie helps leaders and high performers close the gap between where they are and where they’re capable of going.

Blending science-backed insights, stories from more than 12,000 jumps, and plenty of humor, her presentations challenge audiences to rethink fear, take smart risks, and unlock more of their potential. Attendees leave with practical tools to lead with greater confidence and create results that match their ambition.

🎥 Melanie recorded this message to introduce herself. Take a moment to watch, get to know her, and join us in welcoming her to the lineup.

Some people study the world. Some people change it.

This summer, we're honored that our Changemaker, @dr.sylviaearle, closes Week One of the 2026 Chautauqua summer season, "Icons and Instigators: Women Who Change the World" by delivering the Chautauqua Lecture on Friday, July 3rd, sharing one of the most extraordinary lives in exploration and conservation.

Marine biologist. Explorer. Ocean advocate. "Her Deepness." First Female Chief Scientist of NOAA. National Geographic Explorer-at-Large. Rolex Testimonee.

For more than six decades—most recently—through her nonprofit organization @mission_blue, Sylvia has challenged us to see the ocean not as a distant frontier, but as the living heart of our planet—and to recognize that our future is inseparable from its health.

There may be no better place for this conversation than @chq1874, where generations of lifelong learners have gathered in pursuit of ideas that inspire curiosity, deepen understanding, and invite us to imagine a better future together.

As Sylvia often reminds us: No blue, no green. No water, no life.

Join us in the Amphitheater as Sylvia shares stories from a lifetime spent beneath the surface and offers a powerful reminder that hope is an action—and that every one of us has a role to play in protecting our blue planet.

The Chautauqua experience has always been about more than learning something new. It's about leaving changed—and inspired to help change the world for the better.

We are honored to share Dr. Earle and her powerful message on stages everywhere, including through our Vital Impacts environmental education program for students, in partnership with @vital.impacts.
