Every principal room in this house faces the same line of mountains.

Great room, kitchen, dining, primary suite, the pool room — the cut moves through all of them without ever leaving the glass, because the house does not either. Clerestory windows above, floor-to-ceiling below, and a knotty-pine cathedral ceiling carrying the eye out through both.

Year-round and long-range, on 1.48 wooded acres in Mineral Bluff Peak.

Most mountain homes give you the creek or the pool. This one has both, one above the other.

Heated saltwater with a jacuzzi, set into a stone terrace off the back of the house. Mountain views across the water.

Below it, Fightingtown Creek, and Adirondack chairs on the bank.

Most houses end at the back door. This one keeps going, all the way to the river.

Under the main deck, a covered terrace with an outdoor kitchen, a BBQ, a refrigerator and a stone fireplace. Dinner out of the rain.

A newly added staircase leads to a professionally constructed level recreation area with substantial concrete retaining wall—ideal for entertaining, play or a future pool.

And below the 2.22 wooded acres, frontage on the Toccoa. Bring the fishing poles and the kayaks.

Come walk it with me. DM for a private showing.

People ask me where they should look up here. My first question back: what does your week look like?

Coffee and dinner on foot: downtown, near Main Street.
Lake days: close to Lake Blue Ridge.
The long view: up on a ridge above town.
Quiet and room: wooded acreage a few minutes out.

One town, four very different weeks. Fall is a good time to drive past all four.

The house at the end is 684 Overlook Drive: 1.40 gated acres, minutes from downtown.

Tell me which one sounds like you.

The number moved. Nothing else did.

44 Staurolite Mountain Road is now $2,249,000.

Still five bedrooms and five baths on 1.09 gated acres, less than five minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. Still 25-foot A-frame ceilings, Tennessee fieldstone and an eight-burner Viking range.

Still a covered deck with its own stone fireplace and a sunken spa facing the mountains. And still delivered fully furnished, ready to move in.

$849,900 in Ellijay. And above the garage, a second place to live.

That is the whole argument for this property. Over the detached two-car garage sits a private ADU of about 900 square feet, with a full kitchen, a full bath, a walk-in closet, a private entrance and its own deck. It works for guests, extended family, an office, or extra living quarters.

No HOA deciding which of those you are allowed to do with it.

And because the whole thing was finished in 2024, none of the answer is "after you renovate."

Five drives for color, nearest first.

Aska Road, 15 minutes from downtown. Deep Gap first, then the pull-off by the Toccoa River.

Cohutta Overlook on GA-52. A short walk up to a stone platform and a long view of the Cohutta ridges.

Fort Mountain State Park. The stone fire tower, then West Overlook. Parking is $10 a car.

The Russell-Brasstown Byway, a 40-mile loop. Give it three hours and stop at Hogpen Gap.

Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point at 4,784 feet. Open 10 to 5; $10 a person covers the shuttle up.

Peak around Blue Ridge this year looks like 28 October to 3 November. On weekends, go early.

Save this for the trip.
