Fiona’s Sourdough Cottage
Handcrafted sourdough from our Bay Ridge, Brooklyn cottage kitchen Slow-fermented loaves, simple ingredients.
That first cut into a fresh loaf… The crust is crackling, the inside is soft and pillowy, and Fiona is feeling herself.
All that patience, all that waiting, all that delicious sourdough magic… and now it’s time to SLICE AND REVEAL!
Is there anything more satisfying than cutting into a fresh loaf? Fiona says absolutely not. And honestly? She’s a little crusty about anyone who disagrees.
Rainy Sunday forecast: 100% chance of pumpkin sourdough.
The weather is gloomy, the oven is working overtime, and Fiona is thriving because apparently she’s the main character in every season.
Some people have a rainy day hobby. I have a sourdough starter with a diva complex and a pumpkin obsession.
Now excuse us while we turn this gloomy Sunday into something delicious.
Consider this your sign to go get some bread. Fiona didn’t get all bubbly and dramatic for you to walk around carb-less. GO. GET. THE. BREAD.
What smells THAT good?!
Oh, just Fiona casually turning the kitchen into a pumpkin spice candle.
Pumpkin spice loaf is baking, the house smells ridiculous, and suddenly I have absolutely no interest in sharing.
Fall really said: eat the bread.
🎃 Pumpkin season has officially entered the chat… and Fiona is taking it VERY seriously.
Pumpkin-shaped loaves? Obviously.
Pumpkin cinnamon swirl? Absolutely.
Pumpkin everything? You already know.
It’s basically fall therapy, but with flour. 🍂🎃
The weekend is here… which means you have approximately 30 minutes to make questionable decisions before Monday starts creeping in.
So kick off the weekend the right way: eat the pumpkin sourdough.
Fiona said it’s self-care. I don’t make the rules.
When the loaf is already doing the most… and then Elisabete comes along and makes it look even better.
Picture-perfect bread, beautifully captured by Elisabete Duarte. Because apparently Fiona deserves professional photography too.
Thank you for making my bread look this good!
Nor’easter outside, sourdough inside. Honestly, Fiona and I have decided this is not a weather emergency—it’s a bake emergency. My happy place is always the kitchen, especially when the wind is howling, the rain is coming sideways, and Fiona is demanding to be fed like the diva she is.
Apparently I’ve been misunderstanding the word DIET my whole life.
Did I Eat That?
Yes.
Obviously.
I’m not a quitter.
Fiona and I fully support making questionable nutritional decisions when there’s fresh sourdough involved.
Money can’t buy happiness… but it can buy sourdough, and I’ve never seen anyone cry while holding a fresh loaf. Especially when it’s a golden, sesame-covered semolina loaf. Priorities.
So technically… money buys happiness. I don’t make the rules.
