Greater Baton Rouge State Fair

Happy anniversary to Fair Board Secretary Elisabeth Guillot and her husband, Jeff, who got married in front of the Ferris wheel at the fair 10 years ago. Elisabeth is among the fair's volunteer board members. She manages the front gate operation and is an essential part of the fair every year. Congratulations to both of you, and thank you for your service!

The fair is a great place to spend Halloween, and we invite you to wear costumes. However, to ensure a safe and happy experience at the fair, we and our partners at the EBR Sheriff’s Office are asking visitors over 48” tall to refrain from wearing costume masks and face-obscuring makeup and wigs. Hand props will not be allowed.

Our final weekend is coming up. Don't miss it. In addition to daily attractions that are free with admission, you'll also find live music beginning Friday night (10/30), livestock shows, a Dress Your Goat Show, Louisiana Snake ID, pumpkin decorating and Latin Day on Sunday (11/1).

Latin Day will feature live music from 12-4 and maracas painting in the area near the stage.

All proceeds from the fair go back to the community -- almost $5 million since 1987 for high school volunteer award scholarships, educational endowments and worthy cause grants benefiting area children and quality of life.
