π WHAT'S ON YOUR HALLOWEEN AGENDA?
Are youβ¦
π» Taking the kids trick-or-treating?
π Going to a Halloween event?
π₯³ Heading to a party?
πΏ Staying in for a movie night?
π Passing out candy?
π΄ Treating October 31 like any other night?
Tell us what you're up to! π
We'd love to hear what our GSIA friends have planned.
WHAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE INSURE?
It's not the vehicle.
It's not the equipment.
It's not the building.
It's the people.
The businesses we work with are built by people. The trucks are driven by people. The customers we serve are people.
Insurance is important because behind every policy is something β or someone β worth protecting.
That's why what we do matters to us.
A FEW THINGS YOUR INSURANCE AGENT WISHES YOU'D TELL US
Did youβ¦
π Buy a new vehicle?
π Add another truck or trailer?
π€ Add a new driver?
π’ Move your business?
π οΈ Buy new equipment?
π Take on a new type of work?
Tell us!
We'd rather know about a change when it happens than find out later when you're already dealing with a claim or coverage question.
When your business or life changes, give your insurance agent a heads-up.
YOUR 30-SECOND INSURANCE CHECK
Take 30 seconds today and ask yourself:
βοΈ Do I know where my current insurance cards are?
βοΈ Do I know my agent's contact information?
βοΈ Do I know what vehicles are currently listed on my policy?
βοΈ Have any drivers or household/business changes happened recently?
βοΈ Do I have important insurance documents saved somewhere I can access them?
If you answered βI'm not sureβ to any of thoseβ¦ maybe it's time for a quick insurance check-in.
A little preparation now can make things much easier when you actually need your insurance.
π¦ Trucking Safety Tip: Don't Forget the Cargo
A secure load isn't just about protecting the freight β it's about protecting the driver, the vehicle, and everyone sharing the road.
Before heading out, take the time to make sure:
βοΈ Cargo is properly secured
βοΈ Tiedowns are appropriate and in good condition
βοΈ Blocking and bracing are properly used when needed
βοΈ Nothing has shifted during loading
βοΈ Your load is appropriate for the vehicle and equipment being used
A few extra minutes before leaving the yard can make a big difference once you're on the road.
WHAT HAPPENS BEHIND THE SCENES AT YOUR INSURANCE AGENCY?
Insurance is more than just finding a policy and sending an invoice.
Behind the scenes, your insurance team may be:
π Reviewing policies and coverage
π Communicating with insurance carriers
π Processing endorsements and policy changes
π Adding or removing vehicles
π₯ Updating drivers and business information
π» Gathering documents and certificates
π Reviewing renewal information
π€ Helping clients navigate claims and questions
There's a lot that happens before, during, and after you see the final policy in your inbox.
That's what we're here for β helping keep the details behind your insurance working for you.
π Sharing the Road Around Large Vehicles
It's National School Bus Safety Week, but the reminder applies to all large vehicles on the road β including commercial trucks.
Large vehicles need more room to stop, turn, and maneuver.
Whether you're behind the wheel of a passenger vehicle, school bus, or commercial truck:
βοΈ Leave plenty of following distance
βοΈ Avoid blind spots
βοΈ Give large vehicles room to turn
βοΈ Stay alert in school zones and residential areas
Safe roads depend on everyone doing their part.
π Hurricane Season Isn't Over Yet
Louisiana's hurricane season continues through November 30, and October is no time to let your guard down.
For businesses and drivers, now is a good time to review:
π Your auto coverage and deductibles
π Your commercial vehicle coverage
π’ Your business property coverage
π Important policy and claims information
If a storm impacts your area, knowing what coverage you have before you need it can make the process much easier.
Preparation doesn't end when the storm season gets quieter.
π βCan You Send Me a COI?β
If you're a contractor, vendor, or business owner, you've probably heard this request before.
But what exactly is a Certificate of Insurance?
A COI provides evidence of certain insurance coverage at a specific point in time. It's commonly requested before starting a job, signing a contract, or doing business with another company.
One important thing to remember: a certificate is not the insurance policy itself.
If a customer, general contractor, or business partner requests a COI, make sure you understand what they're asking for and what your policy actually provides.
