Permagreen Organics

Memorial Day weekend in Colorado has always meant a few things:
🌸 Planting flowers
🍅 Starting vegetable gardens
🔥 Backyard BBQs with family and friends

But most importantly, Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the fallen heroes who gave their lives in service to our country.

Since 1947, Permagreen Organics has been part of Colorado’s spring traditions—helping generations of families grow healthier gardens, lawns, trees, and landscapes.

As you spend time outdoors this weekend, we hope you’ll also take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices that make these gatherings and traditions possible.

From all of us at Permagreen Organics, thank you to those who served and sacrificed.

Happy Memorial Day.

Colorado-Friendly Flowers That Actually Last
Want flowers that can actually handle Colorado weather?

Look for hardy favorites like:
🌼 Black-eyed Susan
🌸 Salvia
💜 Lavender
🌺 Coneflower

These varieties handle:
☀ Strong sun
💨 Dry air
🌡 Temperature swings

Healthy soil still makes the difference between surviving… and thriving.

Colorado patios and porches are about to get colorful. 🌸

This is the perfect time to plant:
🌺 Petunias
🌼 Marigolds
🌸 Geraniums
💜 Calibrachoa

Container flowers dry out fast in Colorado’s sun and wind, so quality soil matters. Blend with your soil and Permagreen Sheep & Peat will: Supply natural time released nutrients, help break up clay soils, help keep the soil loose and fluffy, increase the soils’ water holding capacity, help stabilize soil temperature, replenish trace elements to the soil, help lower the PH of our alkaline soil.

A good organic mix helps:
✔ Retain moisture
✔ Feed blooms longer
✔ Reduce watering stress

Why New Trees Fail in Colorado
Most newly planted trees don’t fail because of the tree…
They fail because of the soil and watering habits.

Colorado’s dry climate can stress young roots fast.

Avoid common mistakes:
❌ Planting too deep
❌ Overwatering shallow roots
❌ Skipping mulch
❌ Ignoring poor soil structure

Adding organic soil amendments improves moisture retention and root development naturally.

Colorado’s dry conditions are tough on landscapes right now. 💧🌲

That’s where Permagreen Gorilla Hair Mulch makes a big difference.

Its unique shredded texture locks together to help stay in place—even during Colorado wind and rain—while helping soil retain valuable moisture during drought conditions.

Perfect for:
🌸 Flower beds
🌳 Around trees and shrubs
🪨 Walkways and landscape areas

Benefits include:
✔ Helps reduce water evaporation
✔ Retains soil moisture longer
✔ Natural-looking ground cover
✔ 100% natural coloring
✔ Helps protect roots from heat stress

A simple layer of mulch can help your landscape stay healthier while using less water this season.

Spring is one of the best times to plant trees and shrubs in Colorado. 🌳
