The Ever Lea

Want a unique, quirky and abundant dahlia? Check out Lee’s Fizzy Lizzy from Lee Hemmings Carlton ! These blooms are super fun! Great cut dahlia with strong stems. Her plant habit tends to shower you with a bug flush of numerous blooms and then she regains her strength for another big flush. I love the muted apricot and orange tones blended with the white. The blooms are big, fluffy and striking!

Let’s take a look at another dahlia favorite here on our urban flower farm! CDP FLORIFEROUS

Attention cut dahlia growers! This dahlia looks like a jewel and it’s a real gem (see what I did there) 😉 Here is what you need to know:

✅ great cut flower
✅ strong stems
✅ robust plant
✅ consistent blooms all season
✅ you don’t need more reasons…I mean, look at her? 😉

This is yet another highly underrated dahlia. Mary’s First is a striking peach-coral raspberry dahlia with moody, dark foliage. She holds her own with cut flower production too. One of our early risers and she goes all season long. Incredibly attractive in designs and in the garden!

Let’s talk about my absolute favorite blush/light pink dahlia! KA Mocha Jake®️(and not just because that’s my husband’s name 🥰) In true fashion we have a KA dahlia that performs at a peek standard…luscious blooms, strong & long stems, robust plant with abundance. This dahlia is also one of the early risers we grow. Always one of the first to delight in our dahlia field with incredible, top-notch cut blooms!

Meet Clearview Lila! If you are looking for a budget friendly, accessible, robust dahlia that delivers then she is your gal! Each fluffy bloom is uniquely scrumptious and you’ll find them on top of a healthy, sturdy plant. I would also consider Lila to have desirable dahlia breeding characteristics if you are a seed collector & grower!

She has stood the test of time and rivals in beauty and fascination against any new introduction. I say this not because I don’t absolutely love new dahlias, but because sometimes the new unicorns and releases can be out of reach in terms of cost.

Grab her up in our upcoming sale and let her endlessly impress you!

Welcome to my new series where I introduce you to the dahlia varieties I grow and enjoy here on our urban flower farm in Northeast Wisconsin.

Our first feature is an early-rising, prolific bloomer with a dramatic and head-turning deep raspberry color. Bacardi is sure to get the dahlia party started & sustain the vibes through the end of your growing season. She’s an abundant party girl who is tons of fun!

A great show pony with tons of blooms and an excellent cut variety. She’s budget friendly too.

Today I had the pleasure of creating this stunning, seasonal floral piece for a customer. He wanted his wife to have gorgeous flowers for her birthday. I’m always so proud to send creations out into the world using what we grow here and other local collaborators grow.

While we can’t grow flowers year round we can still offer custom requested orders and select available products that showcase our own artistry.

I hope you enjoy this floral piece as much as I enjoyed creating it. This design features a striking blend of dahlias, zinnias, hydrangea, strawflower, marigolds, heirloom mum Royal Glamour, amaranthus and late season peony & plum tree foliage.
