Vilnius, 2022. High-flying executive Marija (Zygimante Elena Jakstaite) chooses the worst possible moment to inform her husband Vytas (Marius Repsys) she wants a divorce: just one day before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Suddenly the couple must navigate the process of separation as it collides with a refugee and mid-life crisis. A struggling film director, Vytas is put into a tight spot by having to move in with his Russophile parents, while Marija struggles to find her footing as the war affects both her business and home life. As the reason for the divorce gradually becomes clear, the dissolution of Marija and Vytas’ marriage creates conflicts and opportunities for both of them, while also affecting their ever-observant young daughter Dovile. Packed with surprises along with much heartache and soul searching, Andrius Blaževičius’ nuanced and timely family drama skillfully depicts the fallout of a marriage against the backdrop of extraordinary events with humor and compassion.

THOLLEM ECLECTRIC'S DoReMi AntiFA Symphony + CARLOS SANTISTEVAN
Sep 30
Wed 7:00pm only!
All Seats $10 but no one turned away for lack of funds!
2026 - 90m approx
A much needed audio-visual romp through West Coast radicalism in the 80s & 90s!
Bonus opener of solo acoustic/electric set by Carlos Santistevan!
In the age-old tradition of American anti-fascist art, literature, performance, and cinema, the DoReMiAntiFa Symphony is a staggering orchestra flowing out from Thollem's infinity machine and illuminated by ACVilla's wildly colorful abstract videos. Through his own experiences as a lifelong activist, nomadic artist, and an amateur experimental political theorist, Thollem weaves a wild romp that connects dots to now from his own anecdotes of radical West Coast activism in the 80s and 90s, creating a personal/collective vision that rises out of the ashes of this fascist buffoon of an administration/cult. All the while, he'll be spontaneously composing an endlessly surprising transcendent symphonic experience.
This is quality revolutionary entertainment at its finest!
And to top it all off, the legendary record label ESP-DISK' will be releasing the live recording on Nov. 3rd (final election day). Please come and be a part of It All!
"Thollem is a bruising virtuoso who has deconstructed free music, classical, blues, electronic music, prog, noise, and everything in between." - Brad Cohan, Bandcamp Daily
"There's more than one way to access the infinite." - Daniel Spicer, The Wire

SERPENT'S PATH
Sep 27 thru 29
Sun to Tue 6:00pm only!
Dir. Kiyoshi Kurosawa - 2024 - 113m - France - In French with English subtitles
Kiyoshi Kurosawa's expansive French language remake of his 1998 thriller of child-trafficking unease and revenge!
Kiyoshi Kurosawa revisits and reimagines his own 1998 thriller in this haunting French-language adaptation of Serpent’s Path, transforming a revenge story into a chilling meditation on grief, guilt, and moral decay. Relocating the action from Tokyo to the bleak outskirts of Paris, the film follows a bereaved father (Damien Bonnard) who embarks on a labyrinthine quest for vengeance against a shadowy child-trafficking organization known as “The Circle,” aided by the enigmatic and unnervingly composed Sayoko, played with hypnotic ambiguity by Ko Shibasaki. Expanding upon the original’s psychological terrain while retaining its eerie inevitability, Kurosawa crafts a masterclass in atmosphere and existential dread, proving once again why he remains one of cinema’s great architects of unease.
“Challenging, rewarding, and gripping.” — Midnight Eye
“Disturbing, elegant.” — Gazettely
"Ko Shibasaki shreds this entire movie, such a fine-tuned performance of expertly calibrated menace and simmering, ambiguous rage.” — Mitchell Beaupre, Letterboxd

GHOST IN THE MACHINE
Sep 27
Sun 1:00pm only!
Dir. Valerie Veatch - 2026 - 94m
A sharply critical yet accessible doc on Techno-fascism, AI history & it's effect on identity, culture and global power!
A visceral investigative essay documentary from director Valerie Veatch, whose past Sundance-premiering films Me @ the Zoo (HBO) and Love Child (HBO) explore how emerging technologies reshape identity, culture, and global power. This new film is her most ambitious work yet - over eight chapters, Veatch helms an urgent excavation of the philosophical, cultural, and political forces driving the global AI boom.
“Enjoyable entertaining doc serves as a very useful, straightforward primer on AI history” (4 stars) - The Guardian
“A radical, necessary Molotov cocktail of a documentary that’s being thrown right into the heart of our nonsense, nightmarish world of overinflated AI hype... The film rises to meet the moment. Veatch won’t be intimidated by the ‘ghost in the machine’ and is instead like a one woman Scooby-Doo mystery gang, unmasking the fantasies that surround these ghosts for being what they are: an extension of techno-fascism” - The Wrap
“This whip-crack smart, informative and often pretty funny documentary is a great starter pack for possibly the biggest ethical question of our age, the rise and use of artificial intelligence.” - (5 Stars) - Camden New Journal
