Food brings us together, helps us grow, and gives us the energy we need to learn, play and explore!

This World Food Day, let us remind our little ones about the importance of healthy eating, reducing food waste, and appreciating the meals we enjoy every day. Every child deserves access to nutritious food and the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong.

The Eastlyn McKenzie Children’s Library invites you to discover the many wonderful ways the coconut plant and fruit contribute to our daily lives! From delicious local treats like sugar cake and coconut tart to useful items such as rope, fex-broom and coconut oil, this tropical treasure is truly a gift from nature.

Let’s encourage our children to make healthy choices, be grateful for the food on their plates, and remember that every little action can help make a big difference!

The staff of the Eastlyn McKenzie Children’s Library recently paid a special visit to The Heavenly Touch Academy, an ECCE centre located in Rockley Vale, Tobago, bringing along a wonderful blend of creativity, fun and learning for the little ones! 🖍️

During the visit, the children participated in exciting arts and crafts activities, shared smiles and laughter, and enjoyed meaningful interactions with the library staff. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to encourage creativity, spark young imaginations and foster a love for learning and reading from an early age.

At Tobago Library Services, we believe that learning extends beyond the walls of the library! Through outreach initiatives like these, we continue to connect with our communities, inspire young minds and nurture a lifelong love for knowledge, one little learner at a time.

A heartfelt thank you to The Heavenly Touch Academy for welcoming our team and allowing us to share in such a memorable experience with the children!

Your mental health matters, today and every day!

Life can get overwhelming, and it’s okay to pause, take a breath, and give yourself the care and kindness you deserve. Remember, you don’t have to have everything figured out, and you don’t have to face every challenge alone.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s continue to break the stigma surrounding mental health, encourage open conversations, and remind one another that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. 💚

✨ Take a moment for yourself. Check in with a loved one. Be kind to your mind.

This October, we stand together to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of taking care of our health.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to educate, encourage early detection, support those affected, celebrate survivors, and remember those we have lost.

Let’s use our voices to spread awareness and remind the women and families in our lives that they are not alone. Take the time to learn about the signs and symptoms, know what is normal for you, and speak with a healthcare professional about any concerns.

Every conversation, every act of support, and every effort to encourage early detection can make a difference.

Together, let’s create a community where awareness leads to action, support brings hope, and every life matters.
