The friendliest hostel in The Friendly Islands! We are a small, communal backpackers' hostel situated a 15 minute walk from central Nuku'alofa.
We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, comfortable and fun atmosphere and will go the extra mile to help our guests have the best time in Tonga! Formerly the owner's family home, we are small but perfectly formed. We offer:

If you've ever been to Hafus House then you knew Kila 🐕. Our super clever, free spirited, people (mostly palangi's 🤣) loving dog. Unfortunately today we lost one of the most loveable members of hafus house. At first I (dad) was reluctant to take you in, but I'm glad your mum said only for afew days... because hafus house would have never been the same. From walking med students to the hospital to jumping in strangers cars and touring around the island. You will be soooo missed. Can't believe only 2days ago I gave you a big hug before leaving tonga 😭 💔 . We love you Kila - you really were a man's best friend . Rest well my friend ✝️ 🐕

big up to our main gal, Bob. Often confused as a bloke (named after ... and?) but she LOVES our male guests. Give her a smelly armpit and she’ll be right up in it. Give her an obscure object and she’ll find a way to make it sexy. Purrrrrrrr. 🐈

to some of our earliest guests at Hafu’s House. Our guest photos now take up the whole wall, so we’ll have to find a new home for them after the renovations!

when Hafu’s House was a mere twinkle in Will’s eye, back in August 2015. Before the firepit and communal area was fashioned, there existed a carport and enough roofing iron to roof the whole of Tonga.

We have had some spectacular times since opening HH 4 years ago...brilliant guests, memorable nights and loads of laughs. BUT when we return, we will be waving a sad (but excitable) goodbye to the original HH and starting work on a new and improved version! We cannot wait to get started (once we finally get back) and will keep our followers updated with pics of our progress! It just means you’ll all have to visit us again... 😂

Sorry for radio silence over the last year, everyone... we’ve been away in the UK, busy growing and tending to this little beauty! We are now on our way back to Tonga but have been caught up in the CV madness. Plenty of time to update our social media! Watch this space for updates, future plans for Hafu’s House and plenty of throwback pics!

To all our past medical students. If only you guys were stuck with us in Tonga while we were open 😂🇹🇴. Your livers wouldn't be too happy. 🍻🥃🍷. Hope everyone is keeping well during this lockdown, until then see you on the other side.
