Yay, we managed a mountain bike cycle.

This morning a group from Bulembu did a cycle.
The views where fantastic. see pics.
This reminded me again on what a privilege it is to live here. Also, this is excellent training ground for training. Come and cycle with us.

We had two snake bites in the tires; that is when a sharp object cuts the tire or tube in two places.

Hope in the Mountains.

Bulembu is such a challenging place, the climes are steep and the roads are in need of maintenance and rough. This makes it a fantastic Mountain Bike training ground. The flattest ride we do is Ncenceni and back. Below is a list of roots we do for training. This makes it difficult to gage new ridders, they lose heart especially after a fall.
BUT the challenge makes it worthwhile. This was shown by the Swazi Frontier the team did well. The reason was the training was done in Bulembu area. This is the hope we have, good training despite the toughness.
THANK YOU! for all the support and the sponsors.

So, come to Bulembu for excellent mountain bile hill training. We will be happy to show you the roots and if possible, we would love to join in a ride. Our lodge is open again for accommodate you are most welcome.

Ncenceni and Back: 15km, climb 354m
Sabelo’s loop: 37km, climb 1166m https://strava.app.link/0G2hrCOoOkb
Colani’s loop: 41.2km, climb 1441m https://strava.app.link/WACTw0fpOkb
Greater Zig-Zag: 14km, climb 523

Training for the Adventure Race.

The Adventure team is well on their way with training.
Cycling is tough around Bulembu, nice and rugged, with lots of climbs on the long rides. EXCELENT MTB training.
Running is just as tough, the rough dirt forest roads or cattle tracks make just as good practice.
Rowing training is planned on Easter Saturday. We are looking forward to peddling.
We did some night training; head lamps and bike lamps helped. It is just much slower, so the aim is to get 80% of the race done in the day.
Navigation; needs more preparation.
Equipment and food; still being collected.

In all we are very excited and should be well ready.

A two team has been entered and we are really hoping, praying and believing that they can go.

Training has been in progress and over the last two weeks a focus on cycling is now done.
This morning the two team members, to go to Bronkhorstspruit, did a 37km MTB ride. Both of them enjoyed the ride and some of the suffering. They are ready. A permit is needed and to gather the rest of the equipment.

The good news is that the four team is well on there way on getting fit. In a next post more details.

Training is commencing, over the last two weeks members have been running and cycling. Individuals are doing 5-10km short runs and 10-20km cycles. Core muscles training is also done.

The two and four team members has been established.

The Kinetics Bronkhorstspruit Event has been entered.

What is left for training is longer runs and cycles, also peddling on the Maguga Dam and swimming practice.

This is all very exciting.

We are aiming to make it a reality. A slow jog was done around Bulembu through Ncenceni, see map below. A nice tough rout with some exiting river crossings.

Individual training is the main focus. Once lockdown is over we plan to do team training. Bulembu and the surroundings makes for fantastic training.
