During the last week of August 2026, SEYFA was pleased to welcome the AFDI representative to Seychelles for a week of activities focused on strengthening advocacy, enhancing collaboration, and supporting young farmers through the ClimAlliance Project.
The week started with a two-day advocacy workshop, bringing together SEYFA Board members to strengthen their understanding and capacity in advocacy, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and effective communication. The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, identify key challenges and explore practical approaches to strengthening advocacy efforts in support of farmers and agricultural development in Seychelles.
Following the workshop, the AFDI representative together with the SEYFA team, participated in a series of field visits with young farmers on Praslin and La Digue who are expected to benefit from the European Grant under the ClimAlliance Project.
These visits served as an important platform for direct interaction with young farmers, allowing discussions on their proposed activities, investment needs, expectations and the potential impact of the grant support on their farming operations.
The combination of the advocacy workshop and field visits contributed to a productive week of learning, exchange, and engagement, reinforcing the commitment of all partners and empowering the next generation of farmers in Seychelles.
