Olaria Nova

Founded in 1988 in the cosmopolitan city of Lagos, Portugal, Olaria Nova was created by the potters Sabine and José de Sousa, but with the interest in creative work by the new generation it has become a family project composed of five artists who help and complement each other. From the beginning until today this family has had the goal of creating original, modern and innovative ceramic pieces to share with the world. Their handmade pottery that range from the carefree to the more rigorous design reflect the soul and vision of each artist revealing the influence that their daily experiences and lifestyle have on the small scale production of quality ceramics. Lagos, Aljezur, the Costa Vicentina and the Espinhaço de Cão Mountains are where they find in harmony with nature, the sea and the city the necessary inspiration to make ideas, colors and shapes flow in this exclusive art that characterizes them.
