It's time to reveal the July instalment of our Around the World in 12 Skeins yarn club.

In July we headed to Amsterdam, the city of canals, world renowned museums, tall leaning houses and more bicycles than you can shake a stick at.

I'm so excited to finally introduce our 2026 Yarn Advent Calendar : The Prism Sessions.

Inspired by mine and Mr PS' love of music in all its forms: pop, rock, a little ska, a little punk, maybe even a touch of the Proms. But more than music itself, it's about the atmosphere around it. The excitement.

The anticipation. That feeling when you've waited months for a gig and the night finally arrives.

The way a song can lift you when you're low, spark something when you're stuck or make you dance in the kitchen (or in the studio) without thinking.

This advent is a celebration of all those moments, spun into 24 days of colour.

Music is almost always playing while I work in the studio. It gets me through the more ordinary parts of the job, prepping yarn, washing pans, tidying the studio, all the little rituals that keep things moving. It sets the tone, keeps the rhythm and makes the magic possible later on.
