What a brilliant couple of days at !

Marlene and Ian have wrapped up two very busy days at Sandown Park, with plenty of conversations, demos, questions, familiar faces and new people stopping by the infoodle stand.

A big thank you to everyone who came over to say hello, have a chat or find out a bit more about what we do. It was great to meet so many people and hear more about the work happening in churches across the UK.

And they quickly ran out of coffee cups! โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks for having us, CRE. We had a great time!

Archive and Delete are two words that should never be treated like twins.

Archive is:
โ€œWe don't actively need this record right now, but let's keep the history.โ€

Delete is:
โ€œI have thought about this carefully and I am ready for commitment.โ€

In infoodle, archived contacts disappear from your normal active lists but can still be searched, reported on, and restored later - and they don't count toward your band size. Permanent deletion is exactly that: permanent.

Sometimes good governance is knowing when not to press the big red button.

Archive thoughtfully. Delete deliberately.

This World Mental Health Day, there's an important distinction between listening to people and letting people shape what happens next.

The 2026 theme is Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.

People with lived experience bring expertise that can't be recreated in a report, textbook or board paper. Meaningful involvement means making room for that expertise in the policies, services, and decisions that affect them.

Not just asking for a story.
Not just ticking a consultation box.
Actually sharing influence.

Today, let's make sure lived experience has a seat at the decision-making table.

Thank you to all our clients and other amazing organisations around the globe who are working towards creating better mental health for all.

A supporter clicks unsubscribe.

This is not the beginning of a negotiation.

People's communication preferences change. Maybe they want newsletters but not appeals. Maybe they want a break. Maybe they want out altogether.

infoodle's Mail Types let recipients control the types of email they receive, including pausing or unsubscribing - and infoodle uses those preferences when sending.

It's good database housekeeping, but more importantly, it's good relationship management.

Respect the click.

โ€œThe system must have changed it.โ€

A timeless classic. Right up there with โ€œit worked yesterday.โ€

When you're responsible for other people's information, knowing what changed is useful.

Knowing who changed it, when, and what it said before is much better.

infoodle's Person Audit Trail records changes made to a contact's data, including the old and new values. You can also see who has viewed (and changed) that person's profile.

Accountability without the awkward office-wide interrogation.

Don't guess. Check the trail.

Today is Gift Aid Awareness Day ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Possibly the only day of the year dedicated to getting excited about ticking a box. And honestly? Fair enough.

For eligible UK donations, Gift Aid can turn generosity into even more support for the causes people care about.

infoodle helps charities capture Gift Aid approval, keep the relevant dates and evidence with the donor, review eligible transactions and prepare claims for HMRC.

So today we're joining charities across the UK with one very simple message:

Donating? Don't forget to . โœ…

Every big event eventually produces The Run Sheetโ„ข.

A document so long it develops its own mythology.

9:00 - Setup
9:07 - Something extremely specific
11:42 - Ask Dave
4:30 - Apparently we're moving 60 chairs

For organisations running more involved events, infoodle's Live Event Manager lets you build an itinerary using sections, individual items, locations and notes - from setup through to pack-down. It gives you the power to adapt and plan on the fly, so you can run the day from one place.

Less ancient scroll. More actual plan.

Does your Fundraising plan ever look like;

Step 1: Raise money.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Excellent community outcomes.

Bold strategy. Could use a middle.

infoodle's Finance tools let organisations manage fundraising campaigns, record pledges and track donations, so planning an appeal can be tied to the financial activity that follows it.

That's particularly handy when September's brilliant idea becomes November's โ€œhow are we actually tracking against this?โ€

Give the fundraiser a campaign!

Planning next term based on โ€œit felt pretty busyโ€ is certainly one methodology - not necessarily our favourite!

If you record attendance in infoodle, Attendance Reports can show who's attending - or missing - over a chosen period, and help you look at attendance trends over time.

That gives churches, youth programmes, and community groups something much more useful to plan from than collective memory and optimistic guesswork.

Do we need another session? Did attendance drop? Are people quietly falling away?

Plan from patterns, not vibes.
