The Club was formed in 1883. This page has been set up by the Committee for the TRFC in order to communicate to our members and supporters official events and information for the TRFC.

WOMEN’S RUGBY IS COMING BACK TO TAIERI
The response to our first call-out has been absolutely awesome. We’ve had a huge number of women put their hands up to be part of a new Taieri Eels Women’s team, and we’re now very close to having a full squad.
But we need a few more players to make sure we have the numbers and depth to make this happen in 2027.
So, if you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign to get in touch.
Maybe you’ve played before and would love to get back into it. Maybe you’re currently playing elsewhere and keen for a change closer to home. Or maybe you’ve never played rugby at all but would love to give it a go. We’d love to hear from you.
And it’s not just players we’re looking for.
We’d also love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved as a coach, manager or in another support role. If you’ve got experience, enthusiasm, or simply want to help us build something great, get in touch.
It would be fantastic to see a women’s team back at Taieri, wearing the blue and gold and becoming part of the club again.
We’re nearly there. A few more Eels and we can make it happen.

We’re putting the call out to help us build a Taieri Women’s Rugby Team for the 2027 season!
Whether you’ve played rugby for years, haven’t played since school, or have never played before but always wanted to give it a go, we want to hear from you.
No experience required. Get your girls together, bring your enthusiasm and come join the Eels!
