GIBEON MEETS SWAKOPMUND

While in Swakopmund for other official engagements, a delegation of Councillors from the Gibeon Village Council lead by the chairperson of the management committee, Cllr. Ellerien Isaacks took the opportunity to pay an informal courtesy visit to the Municipality of Swakopmund.

The friendly engagement reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing and strengthening relationships between local authorities. The Gibeon delegation also expressed its intention to return with the full Council and members of the administration for a structured educational and benchmarking engagement, where both councils can exchange best practices and learn from one another.

The Swakopmund Municipal Council looks forward to welcoming the full delegation and continuing to build a partnership that benefits our communities.

PUBLIC AUCTION OF OBSOLETE AND REDUNDANT ASSETS

Notice is hereby given that the Swakopmund Municipality will conduct a public auction for the sale of obsolete and redundant assets as follows:

Venue: Municipal Stores, Hidipo Hamutenya Street, Swakopmund
Viewing: Friday, 31 July 2026 at 10:00

Members of the public are invited to attend the auction, where a variety of items will be offered for sale to the highest bidders.

Items on auction include, but are not limited to:
Motor vehicles
Earthmoving equipment
Machinery and workshop equipment
Furniture and office equipment; etc.

The List of Auction Items will be published on the Swakopmund Municipality's official social media platforms prior to the auction.

WATER INTERRUPTION IN VINETA- THURSDAY 30 JULY 2026

The public is hereby informed that the Municipal Water Works Section will be carrying out waterline connections and valve replacement in the area indicated below.The intersections of Tobias Hainyeko (Mittel) Street and Nesser Street, as well as Tobias Hainyeko Street and Werft Street, will be partially closed to traffic from Tuesday, 28 July 2026, until Friday, 7 August 2026.

Furthermore, on Thursday, 30 July 2026, the area indicated below will experience a water interruption from 07:00 to 19:00.

Motorists are advised to adhere to all road signs and exercise caution in the affected areas.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused in this regard.
