While exploring the Erongo Plateau, Lisa Nyström from Sweden came across something truly remarkable—an elephant screw, a fascinating reminder that these magnificent "giants" roam this beautiful landscape.

Every walk at Erongo Plateau Camp has the potential to reveal something extraordinary. Whether it's fresh wildlife tracks, breathtaking scenery, or unexpected discoveries like this, nature never fails to amaze.

Elephant shrews, locally known as sengis. Despite their name, they are not true shrews but are closely related to elephants. These agile, insectivorous mammals are uniquely adapted to the arid and rocky desert landscapes of the region.
