A stakeholder consultation workshop was recently held to present the proposed Land Transport Masterplan for the Greater Malé Region.

The masterplan is being developed by Up Close Solutions as part of the Integrated Sustainable and Low Emission Transport in the Maldives project, implemented under the Ministry of Tourism and Environment in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.

This 10-year strategic roadmap aims to address key urban mobility challenges, with a focus on:

- Sustainability and emissions reduction
- Energy security and efficiency
- Enhanced urban mobility
- Inclusivity, accessibility, and resilience

Representatives from 25 organizations, including government institutions, state-owned enterprises, and other key stakeholders, participated in the workshop. We had productive discussions and received valuable feedback that will help refine and strengthen the masterplan.
