In 1971, Antinori broke every rule Chianti had. Tignanello dropped the white grapes, brought in Cabernet, aged in French barriques: a w**e so far outside tradition it couldn't legally call itself Chianti. It became the w**e that launched the Super Tuscan movement.
Twenty-six generations, one family, since 1385. That same instinct to push against convention still runs through every bottle, from Tignanello to Solaia.

Every bunch is shaped by hand: done with a conservative touch to concentrate flavour rather than yield. The Mira Merlot 2020 rewards that restraint, voluptuous on the palate, its red and black fruit deepening with air and lingering long after the glass is empty.
Structured yet silky, this is a w**e built for the table: unhurried, and better with company.

Three dishes, three w**es, one dining experience shaped by altitude.
Uva Mira's high-altitude vineyards give its w**es a freshness and minerality that's rare for the region. Sauvignon Blanc lifts creamy goat's cheese with granite-driven acidity. Shiraz brings depth and spice to smoky, charred chicken. Merlot closes the meal with its voluptuous berry richness alongside banana and caramel.

Christiaan Coetzee has spent fourteen years as oenologist at Uva Mira, long enough to know every contour of the Helderberg by heart.
Up here, close enough to the Atlantic to feel its breath, the grapes ripens slowly. Deliberately. It's this altitude, Christiaan says, that gives Uva Mira its "golden thread": elegance, purity, freshness, minerality, longevity; woven through every bottle they make.
For Christiaan, w**emaking isn't chasing a formula. It's listening to what the mountain already knows.

Taste the South African heights with Uva Mira.
Every bottle carries the story of where it grew: 620 meters up the Helderberg, where mountain and ocean shape each vine in their own way.
Merlot: Careful green harvesting, canopy and crop management shape every bunch: soft, voluptuous, with intense, succulent red and black berries that unfold generously and linger.
Chardonnay: Gently oaked from selected estate blocks, marked by pure fruit, a creamy texture and the estate's signature minerality.
Sauvignon Blanc: From the highest slopes, cooled by morning breezes and sharpened by granite soils into crisp, vibrant acidity.
Shiraz: Drawn from a warmer, lower block of Oakleaf soils, luscious black fruit and spice held in check by altitude and sea air.

Beau Plan's Apéro takes place on the first Thursday of

distinctive character of Le Cartel 2024 and Donkiesbaai
Grenache Blanc, perfectly complimented by a
charcuterie board.
