PLANK

Ever since the beginning of House music, Brandon has been into it. Growing up in Chicago, he got an early start in the rave, club and music scene in the early 1990’s. He quickly learned the ropes of DJing, buying new music and making mixtapes, which led to bookings at clubs and one-off events.

After moving to California in 1995, Brandon became one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s favorites in the underground community, best known for being one of the first Jungle/Drum & Bass DJs in the region, with various club residencies and regular performance at after-hours parties and raves. In 1999, he moved to Denver, Colorado, and quickly became one of the region’s most popular House/Techno DJs, playing the largest events in the Central and Western United States, receiving international recognition through radio shows and a tiring touring schedule across North America. Over the years, Brandon has been top billed with many artists, such as Robert Miles, Seth Troxler, Dieselboy, Josh Wink, Bad Boy Bill, Roger Sanchez, Donald Glaude, and DJ Keoki. Brandon is now in Malta, where he continues to spread his sound.

Jungle + Drum & Bass / MIB Crew Showcase - End of Season

Artist presentation:

AKULA

Russia born, Malta shaped, and back on the island. Akula is bringing his sound to the MIB Crew.

After spending time behind the decks in Italy, he’s back in Malta and ready to switch things up with a set rooted in UK Garage & Breakbeats rolling grooves, broken rhythms and plenty of bass for the dancefloor.

His usual territory sits deeper: melodic, atmospheric Dubstep and heavy Drum & Bass, with a taste for darker textures and weighty low-end. But for this one, he’s stepping outside his usual lane and showing a different side of his sound.
