🧠 MOVEMENT IS MORE THAN FITNESS. IT’S BRAIN TRAINING.

On World Alzheimer’s Day, let’s remember that exercise doesn’t only strengthen our muscles, it also supports our brain health.

Regular physical activity can help:
✨ Improve coordination
⚖️ Support balance & stability
🧠 Stimulate brain function
🎯 Challenge focus & reaction time
💪 Maintain strength & independence
❤️ Support overall physical and mental well-being

Exercises that combine movement, balance, coordination and thinking give the brain and body a reason to work together.

And it’s never too late to MOVE.

At Rithletic, we believe movement is about more than looking fit.
It’s about staying capable, confident and independent through every stage of life.

MOVE YOUR BODY. CHALLENGE YOUR BRAIN. 💜

How much weight should you be able to lift at your age?

Scientifically, there is no single number that applies to everyone.

Strength is influenced by your body weight, muscle mass, training experience, technique, joint health, hormones, medical history and daily demands.
Two people of the same age may safely lift very different loads, and both can be strong.

A more meaningful benchmark is relative and functional strength:

Can you squat with control?
Can you hinge safely and lift something from the floor?
Can you push, pull and carry without pain?
Can you climb stairs, maintain balance and get up from the floor confidently?

In your 20s, focus on mastering movement patterns and building a strong foundation.

In your 30s, continue progressing your strength so your body can meet the demands of work, family and daily life.

In your 40s and 50s, resistance training becomes increasingly important for preserving muscle, supporting bone health and maintaining metabolic function, especially through perimenopause and menopause.

In your 60s and beyond, strength and power directly support balance, mobility and independence.

The goal is not simply to “lift heavy,” but to keep producing enough force to react, stabilize and perform everyday tasks safely.

The right weight is one that challenges you while allowing good technique, controlled movement and gradual progress.
As you become stronger, the load should evolve with you.

The real benchmark is not the number on the bar, it is what your body can confidently do.

Train for strength.
Train for resilience.
Train for the life you want to keep living. 💜

Move better. Feel stronger. Live fully.

Carbs are not the enemy💜

As we age, our bodies still need the right fuel to support energy, strength, recovery, gut health and an active lifestyle.

The key isn’t cutting carbs out. It’s choosing them wisely.
Think oats, whole grains, quinoa, rice, beans, fruits and vegetables , nourishing foods that bring fibre, nutrients and energy to your day.

And if you’re strength training, carbohydrates also help replenish muscle glycogen so you can train well, recover well and keep building and maintaining muscle. 💪

After 40, nutrition shouldn’t be about fearing food or following another extreme restrictive diet.

✨ Eat to nourish. Train to get stronger. Build habits you can actually sustain.

Swipe through ➡️ and save this for the next time someone tells you that you need to “cut carbs” to be healthy.

Move better. Feel stronger. Live fully. 💜
