Your heavy period might not be normal. Sometimes, uterine fibroids are the reason.

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in the uterus.
They can cause heavy bleeding, painful periods, pelvic pressure, bloating, and sometimes difficulty conceiving.
Some women have no symptoms at all, while others struggle silently for years.
The good news is that fibroids can be diagnosed and managed.
You do not have to keep suffering in silence.

If your symptoms are affecting your daily life, please see a qualified gynecologist for evaluation.

The plot twists? Unmatched.
The midnight emergencies? Legendary.
What do people Google before finally coming to the clinic? You wouldn’t believe them.
The miracles? They happen more often than you think.
The tears, the laughter, the hope, the new beginnings, that’s the part no one sees.

Every consultation carries a story.
Every birth changes more than one life.
Every diagnosis reminds you that medicine is as much about humanity as it is about science.

Patient confidentiality means those stories stay safely in the consultation room.

But trust me, if walls could talk, we’d have at least 10 seasons.

Does a scan know your baby's age?

Yes! Especially in the first trimester, ultrasound is one of the best tools we have for estimating gestational age and confirming your expected due date.

That's why an early pregnancy scan is so valuable, it helps ensure your pregnancy is dated as accurately as possible and guides the rest of your antenatal care.

Did your estimated due date change after your first scan? Share your experience below!

11 weeks pregnant and still nauseated? Don't worry, you may be closer to relief than you think!

For most pregnant women, nausea starts improving between 12 and 14 weeks, and many feel significantly better by 14–16 weeks. At 11 weeks pregnant, you're very close to the stage where symptoms often begin to ease.

A general timeline:

Weeks 4–6: Nausea often begins.
Weeks 8–11: Symptoms are usually at their worst.
Weeks 12–14: Many women notice improvement.
Weeks 14–16: Most experience substantial relief.
Beyond 20 weeks: About 10–20% of women still have nausea, though it is usually milder. A small number continue to have symptoms until delivery.
What can help in the meantime?
Eat small, frequent meals rather than large ones.
Avoid letting your stomach become completely empty.
Choose bland foods (crackers, toast, rice, bananas) if tolerated.
Stay hydrated by taking small sips of fluids throughout the day.
Identify and avoid foods or smells that trigger nausea.
Some women find ginger or vitamin B6 helpful, but discuss supplements or medications with your healthcare provider before starting them.
When should you seek medical attention?

Contact your healthcare provider promptly if you:

Cannot keep down food or fluids for more than 24 hours.
Passing very little urine or noticing dark urine.
Feel dizzy or faint.
Lose weight because of persistent vomiting.
Vomit blood or have severe abdominal pain or fever.

These symptoms may suggest hyperemesis gravidarum, a more severe form of pregnancy-related nausea that may require treatment.

Reassurance

At 11 weeks, it's very common to still feel quite nauseated, and many women find that they turn a corner over the next couple of weeks. While every pregnancy is different, there's a good chance you'll start noticing improvement soon.
