🚖 Sometimes the stories that matter most are the ones you never hear about.

Taxi drivers are often in the headlines when something goes wrong, and it’s easy for people to judge an entire profession based on the actions of a few. What the public don’t always see are the countless acts of kindness, care and compassion our drivers show on a regular basis.

On Friday evening, 26th June, one of our drivers, Justino, dropped a lady home at around 10:30pm. As she got out of the taxi, she unfortunately lost her footing and fell, striking her head. Although she insisted she was alright, Justino could immediately see she had suffered a significant head injury and needed help.

He immediately called for an ambulance. However, while he was on the phone, the lady wandered away before help arrived. Rather than simply driving off, Justino became concerned for her welfare and sought assistance from nearby residents, who managed to locate her at home, where it became clear she urgently needed medical attention.

Justino stayed with her and the neighbours until the ambulance arrived and she was safely on her way to hospital, where she received 14 stitches. Thankfully, we understand she is now back home and recovering well.

Yesterday we received a lovely email from one of the residents who also helped that evening. One paragraph in particular stood out:

“If Justino had driven off and not spoken to the neighbour, I dread to think what might have happened! I just wanted to express our appreciation for his concern and diligence for his passenger.”

We’re incredibly proud of Justino. His actions weren’t part of the job description—they were simply the actions of someone who genuinely cared.

To all our drivers, thank you for the many things you do every day that often go unnoticed. Whether it’s helping elderly passengers with their shopping, making sure someone gets home safely, assisting vulnerable people, or simply showing kindness when it’s needed most, those moments matter.

And to members of the public, if you’ve experienced exceptional service from one of our drivers, we’d love to hear about it. Positive feedback means a great deal to our drivers and reminds everyone that there is another side to the taxi profession that isn’t always seen.
