With Philips Respironics discontinuing the Alice 6, Alice NightOne, and Alice PDx devices, the sleep diagnostics space is in a moment of transition. In a recent Sleep Review magazine article, writer Ann H. Carlson asks where will sleep specialists turn for their sleep diagnostics equipment? The article features interviews with Nox Medical President Ingvar Hjalmarsson and Vice President of Sales and Business Development Drew Lackner.
“I think there are going to be two major impacts,” says Drew Lackner, vice president of sales and business development for Nox Medical. “Sleep labs are going to have to make decisions about how they move forward with their programs, and sleep diagnostic manufacturers are going to have to decide whether it’s worth staying in this business. If they haven’t been doing any new research and development, it may be too late…I suspect that we will see fallout from other companies.”

We want to wish all of our friends and colleagues in the sleep medicine community a restful and joyous holiday season. Each year, we create a holiday card that we hope lives up to the spirit of ingenuity that lives at Nox Medical. This year's holiday card features art created by one of our employee's children at their home in Iceland.
The chain of paper dolls pictured shows that each doll is happily ready to go to bed with their Nox Medical diagnostic sleep testing equipment. Each doll wears a Nox A1s or a Nox T3s with Nox RIP belts. The experience of working on this project was not only a fun way to spend time with family, the project also served as a moment to educate even the smallest members of the family about the importance of sleep.
We believe it is never too early to learn about the benefits of a good night's rest and we wish all our friends and colleagues take some time this season to talk to loved ones about the benefits of quality rest. Happy holidays, happy New Year, and good sleep to all.

Sleep lab managers, tired of bulky EEG cables during your in-lab sleep studies? We have a solution: Say hello to the Nox A1s head cable!
With the Nox A1s head cable, external headboxes during sleep studies can now become a thing of the past. The Nox A1s head cable is designed with all the necessary EEG channels in a single cable.
Powerful enough for diagnostic studies in the sleep lab or in patient’s home, the Nox A1s head cable is a departure from the traditional headbox, but still meets all the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s (AASM) standards for full polysomnography testing. The design of the Nox A1s EEG head cable incorporates a lightweight feel and wireless connectivity so that patients can sleep comfortably without being tethered to the bedside. Learn more here:
