⚠️ Do you know your risk of developing a blood clot?
Blood clots rarely happen for one reason and understanding your risk factors is an important step in prevention.
Your risk may increase due to a number of factors, such as:
• During a hospital stay or in the 90 days following surgery
• If you have cancer or are receiving cancer treatment
• During pregnancy and for up to six weeks after giving birth
• Following periods of immobility, such as after an injury
• When taking an oestrogen-containing contraceptive pill or oral HRT
• During long-haul travel
Knowing your risk can help you take action and seek advice when needed.

Throughout September, people across Ireland have been getting active and taking on the 60 in September Challenge in support of the Irish Heart Foundation.
This week, our staff got out for a walk too, to say a big thank you to everyone taking part! 👟❤️
Getting out for a walk is a simple way to add more movement to your day. So, why not put on your walking shoes, get outside and show your heart some love?

Today is World Heart Day ❤️
This year’s theme is “Heart Disease Can Hide in Plain Sight: Don’t Miss a Beat.”
High blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar can increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.
This World Heart Day, the Irish Heart Foundation encourages everyone to know their numbers and take an important step towards protecting their heart health.
If you don’t know your numbers, consider booking an appointment with your healthcare provider to get them checked.
