As many of you know, my passion has always been helping children develop their literacy skills.

I’m moving in a slightly different direction for 2026! While my regular literacy classes are now being run by another teacher, I have teamed up with a fellow primary school colleague to launch an exciting new venture: Super Speakers. 🚀

We are focusing on the power of the spoken word to build real-world confidence. Our 70-minute weekly workshops for 8–12 year olds in Greystones will feature:

🎙️ The Mic Lab (Podcasting) 🔥 The Opinion Arena (Debates) 🦈 The Script Studio (Pitches)

We’ll be launching after the February mid-term. 📅

Missing since yesterday Greystones area

This one is for my incredible parents!

My dad, at 74, just completed his first-ever marathon—an absolutely astounding achievement.

My mum also 74 ran/jogged & walked her second marathon, and this one was a far tougher challenge than last year. Not only did she battle the relentless rain and wind, but she also suffered a leg injury early on, forcing her to limp every step after the fifth mile. Despite the pain, she showed incredible grit and never gave up, crossing that finish line. Not to mention helping me raise some money for St Kevin’s language unit Greystones and spreading awareness of DLD Developmental Language Disorder.. Absolute legends in my opinion! !Irish Life Dublin Marathon

I'm a big fan of diaries, and I finally got around to purchasing a few for all my kiddos—something I had been meaning to do for a long time!

If you've been thinking about getting one for your child, it's such a simple but powerful tool. It gives them a private space to make sense of their day, which is huge for building emotional intelligence and self-esteem. And the best part? It's a low-pressure way for them to practice writing skills and spelling without even realising it.

It's a gift that keeps on giving: the confidence to know themselves and tell their own story!

Every Thursday afternoon, students from 5th & 6th class can dive into their favourite graphic novels, create their own comic strips, and chat with fellow fans.

🎨 Ages: 5th–6th Class

No experience needed, just a love for stories and drawing!

Prep for todays is a story jar. It is excellent for a child’s oral skills as it provides a fun, low-pressure way for them to practice constructing narratives, expanding their vocabulary, and boosting confidence in verbal expression!

That time of year is almost upon us again when the kids are back to school. If you are still out buying bits and pieces, please remember to think twice about having your child’s school bag personalised with their name visible. A child could automatically presume that anybody who says their name is not a stranger.

There are so many choices out there from personalised pencil cases to stickers for books with the child's name added and that is fine as they won't be seen when the child is travelling to and from school. 🎒🚸

Few things for my new classroom! This year I have senior infants and I can’t wait!!
