A beautiful historic estate available to groups big and small for exclusive hire: parties, retreats, events or weddings

Temple House is a classical Georgian manor set in a private estate of over 1,000 acres, overlooking a 13th century lakeside castle of the Knights Templar. The Perceval family home since 1665, the present manor was redesigned in 1864 and enjoys the authentic and unpretentious country house atmosphere. An historic home offering luxury country house accommodation sleeping up to 20, Temple House Estate is a spectacular wedding venue, a relaxing space for a retreat, a perfect country house for a family gathering or a private corporate meet. You will find on-site boating, SUP, pike fishing, bird watching, terraced gardens and miles of woodland walks. Within easy reach are beautiful beaches, eagles flying, archaeological sites, horse riding, trout fishing and four championship golf courses. Traditional music and dancing sessions can be arranged too. Temple House is an ideal base on the Wild Atlantic Way.

The plan was to go for a walk.

Then there was a fire to sit beside.

Then someone suggested tea.

Then there was another cup of tea.

Then it seemed rude not to have a glass of w**e.

The walk never happened.

We’re calling it a very successful day at Temple House.

Polish the shoes. Find the vintage dress. Dust off the dancing skills.

Cairde’s Vintage Ball is returning to Temple House, and this year it’s all about vintage glamour, live music and dancing until 2am.

Think 1920s–50s style, old-school Hollywood glamour, welcome drinks and nibbles, live music from Shell Town, DJs and pop-up performances.

And if you really don’t want the night to end with the last dance, there are just ten rooms available at Temple House, so you can make a proper night of it.

The Vintage Ball takes place in support of Cairde’s 2027 arts programme.

Come dressed for the occasion. Stay for the atmosphere. Dance until late.

There are dinners.
And then there are dinners where someone else does all the work, you’re sitting around a huge old mahogany table, there’s an open fire beside you and the lake stretches out beyond the windows.

At Temple House, private dining is prepared by your very own professional chef, with seasonal menus shaped around the occasion and, wherever possible, ingredients sourced from the estate and trusted local suppliers.

Three courses, good w**e, candlelight and plenty of time around the table.

The sort of evening where nobody is checking the time.

Private dining is available by prior arrangement for in-house guests, whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, gathering with friends or simply fancy making a weekend of it.

The days might be getting shorter, but there's still plenty to get out and enjoy.

Walks by the coast.
Mountain hikes.
Delicious local dining.
Soak in some culture.
And those beautiful autumn days when the landscape seems to show off a little more than usual.

If you were spending a weekend in Sligo this October, what would be on your list?

The group chat:

“Anyone fancy a weekend away?”

“YES.”

“Definitely.”

“Sounds amazing.”

“I'm in.”

“Where are we going?”

*Silence.*

We can help with that bit.

Bring your favourite people, fill the house, and let someone else worry about the cooking, the logistics and finding somewhere everyone can actually fit.

Temple House is made for getting together.

Who's in your group chat that needs to see this? 👀

A wedding at Temple House isn't just about the ceremony.

It's the morning breakfast with your family.

The friends arriving and settling in.

The glasses raised the night before.

The conversations that go on long after dinner.

And the slightly slower breakfast the morning after, when nobody is quite ready to leave.

When you have the exclusive use of the house, there is time to enjoy all those bits in between.

And sometimes, they're the bits you'll remember most.

If you're thinking about a wedding at Temple House, we'd love to show you around.

Tomorrow is October. How did that happen?!

One minute we're enjoying long summer's evenings, and the next we're discussing heating, woolly jumpers and whether it's too early to put the fire on. (It isn't, by the way.)

Autumn does have its charms, though. Cosy corners, a good book, long walks in the Sligo countryside and absolutely no obligation to do anything particularly productive.

We think that sounds rather lovely.

Are you team autumn or are you already counting down to spring? 🍂

Sunday at Temple House 🤍

A slower morning.
A long breakfast.
A walk if you’re feeling energetic.
A second cup of tea if you’re not.

And absolutely no need to know what day it is tomorrow.

We think that sounds like a pretty good way to spend a Sunday.
