The Maynooth Bookshop

New comic drop today with some original Amazing Spider-Man from as far back as 1964

I still can't quite believe that we had these two amazing people on the one stage in the shop together. Professor Katriona O'Sullivan and Sally Hayden had our audience wowed. I'm not sure we will have another night like it.

More events coming soon so make sure you are signed up to our mailing list so you don't miss out.

We had a thoroughly fascinating evening celebrating the launch of "Before the Doctor Came: Medicine in Medieval Ireland" by Katherine Colthurst. This is a brilliantly accessible book on the topic. Signed copies available in store and online

Bring your dog to work day here today! Dora had some surgery yesterday so I didn't want to leave her at home. We will see how this goes but a more permanent bed in the office might be needed. For now Folens are helping to keep her cosy

She has arrived! Gruffalo Granny is the newest member of the Gruffalo family to arrive to the deep dark wood.

John Banville very kindly stopped by our stand before his keynote address to sign copies of his books. In the unlikely event that we have any left after the conference, they will be available in store this week

Martina Devlin stopped by to sign copies of "Charlotte" and "Edith" ahead of her keynote at the Historical Novel Society Conference

Another brilliant evening with a packed bookshop to launch Martina Murphy's latest book. The Taken is the sixth book in the DS Lucy Golden series. We were delighted to have Zoe Miller launch it. Thanks, as always, to Hachette Ireland for supporting the launch. Limited signed copies available in store and online.

Alan Carrigan claimed after tonight's launch that he wasn't a good public speaker. He had his audience in the palm of his hand! Thanks Alan for letting us be a part of your night and a massive congratulations on the publication of "Then We'll Be Happy". As one person said to me, this should be on the junior cert
