Non-Profit music school in East Galway. Music Matters was founded as a non-profit in September of 1984 in New Inn, Co.
Galway by Suzuki teacher Maire Ní Dhuibhir. In September 2014 Music Matters moved to it's new premises in Loughrea to house it's 250 students, and many orchestras and music groups. As a non-profit the fees of students just cover minimal teaching fees. All other running costs such as insurance, rent, light and heat need to be covered by fundraising every year. Luckily Music Matters have secured support from the Tús programme which provides a secretarial worker every year. Music Matters provides tuition on Violin, Piano, Guitar, Cello, and Viola, all taught by trained and qualified Suzuki teachers. There is also a conventional woodwind teacher available, along with tuition for the Leaving and Junior cert music papers. Outreach programmes: Music Matters now provides tuition in Oranmore, Mountbellew, and Ballinasloe.

Our Christmas break is under way until mid January so we wish all of our student and their families a wonderful Christmas and new year. 🎄⛄🌟🎁🥛🍪
Thank you to all who contributed to our Loughrea Lions Club donation box in December. We raised €121.02 and the cash/coins were dropped into the collection box in Eurospar Ireland today. Go raibh míle maith agaibh arís!
Don't forget to make *some* time for fairly regular practice across the Christmas break. Listening to the recordings is good and even a little bit of review for 5 or 10 minutes will keep things ticking over!
