I spent this morning at a brilliant digital marketing event in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon Roscommon, in collaboration by the Local Enterprise Office Roscommon and the Roscommon Herald and Roscommon Chamber of Commerce. Riad Zouheir director of Amplify Media Sales gave an impressive presentation in Digital marketing. He made many important points. Here are just some of my take aways. His big point was that people don't buy with logic first, they buy with emotion first. Rational vs Emotional. He shared a Harvard Business Review stat that our brains process emotional content around five times faster than purely rational content, and content that connects emotionally gets shared and bought far more often. It's mad to think how many of us in business default to leading with price and product features when really it's the feeling behind the story that gets someone to act.
He also spoke about consistency being the real currency of brand awareness. You don't want your customers to forget you, so showing up the same way, with the same message and the same look, again and again, is what builds trust over time.
Riad also made the point which was one of my favourite takeaways that "attention is only the start, not the sale, " and that your website is doing the heavy lifting twenty four seven because unlike a salesperson, it never calls in sick.
His 10/10 content rule stuck with me too, mostly educational and value led content, a bit of curated content, and only a small slice that's purely promotional. He spoke on so much more.....He was followed by
Keith Nevin, speaking for the Irish Times, followed with a really practical look at multi channel campaigns, tying print advertising in with digital through QR codes and backlinks. The digital printing was also very impressive I wasn't aware of those benefits until today.
It's easy in the day to day of running a business to forget these core fundamentals, especially when you're wearing every hat yourself. Today was a good reminder that marketing has changed so much even in the past few years, and that online visibility isn't separate from what can feel like a more old school route like local newspaper advertising, they actually work best tied together. Keith's point about backlinks through the newspaper's own platform was something I hadn't thought about before and it's worth looking into for both sites.
And beyond the content itself, it's always worth going to these events for the people Roscommon County Council New connections and catching up with familiar faces is just as much a part of growing a business as anything you'll learn from a slide.π―

Wedding morning details are some of my favourite things to capture. ,π«
Little pieces like the invitations, the rings, the shoes, they quietly tell your whole story before the day even begins.
My best advice, gather everything together the night before so your morning feels calm and not rushed. I believe the little things deserve just as much care as the big moments, and I'm here to guide you through it every step of the way ,π

"POV: your photographer is hiding in a bush for youπ
This is what a wedding day actually looks like from a photographers point of view...well mine anyway... From getting low angles of the wedding details in the flowerbed to legging it down the driveway to catch that veil moment, it's a full day of chasing light and chasing moments before they're gone.π₯
It's mad to think how much happens between the semi posed shots, the quiet ten seconds with a coffee cup, the dash to the car, a laugh with the bridal party.
And yes, I will absolutely climb into a bush if that's what it takes to get you the shot.π
What a joy to capture this one, the beautiful Aileen & Seamie capturd at the stunning Lough Rynn Castle.
I'm so delighted every time a couple lets me into their day like this. If you're planning your wedding and want it documented properly, honestly and with a bit of fun along the way, get in touch, I'd love to chat.

These are the moments most guests never see me capture, tucked away before the ceremony, quiet and unhurried. But they become some of the images you treasure most.
Here is a glimpse behind the lens, and the results those quiet moments become. π
Full circle moments like this are exactly why I love what I do. π
Back in 2010, I photographed Terese and Joe's wedding day. Fast forward to now, and I had the absolute joy of photographing their five month old baby girl, Leah, in studio.
This session was pure joy from start to finish. We chatted through everything beforehand, what to bring, what to wear, and Terese got to choose from an array of beautiful outfits I have in studio for Leah. That's one of the things I love most about clients coming to me in studio, you have options. You can coordinate with pieces I provide, or bring your own outfits from home, and I'll guide you through the whole process so there's no stress, no second guessing. You just walk in ready, and I take care of the rest with real attention to capturing beautiful, natural photos.
Getting to be part of Terese and Joe's story not once, but twice, from their wedding day to their growing family, is the kind of thing that makes this job feel like such a privilege.
If you're thinking about booking a family or newborn session and want guidance every step of the way, from wardrobe to posing to everything in between, I've got you covered. Let's create something beautiful together. πΈ
