We don’t normally post or comment on traffic issues within Letterkenny town, as there are a lot of businesses in the town that rely on people coming in, and we believe that much of the negative publicity around traffic can, in turn, affect footfall for local shops and businesses.

As we are all aware, the mornings and evenings tend to be the worst, with traffic often causing significant delays. During the day, however, traffic generally flows reasonably well without any major issues.

This morning, the road between the bottom of Lurgybrack and Letterkenny Ready Mix was closed during the morning commute. We fully appreciate that essential roadworks have to be carried out, but surely works on such an important stretch of road should, where possible, be scheduled for nighttime or weekends when traffic volumes are much lower.

Whoever approved this road closure really needs to consider the impact it has on the ratepayers and businesses of our great town. These are the people who contribute towards the upkeep of Letterkenny, sponsor local clubs and sports, and play a huge part in supporting the wider community.

We understand that roadworks are necessary — but better planning and timing could make a huge difference to everyone who lives, works and does business in Letterkenny.

🎸 OASIS LIVE ’27 IS COMING TO SLANE! 🎸

THE WAIT IS OVER. OASIS ARE BACK. AND THEY’RE COMING TO SLANE CASTLE!

📅 Friday 4th & Saturday 5th September 2027
📍 Slane Castle, Co. Meath

And if you're hoping to be there, don't just think about the ticket — think about how you're getting there.

🚨 GET YOUR TRANSPORT PLAN SORTED EARLY! 🚨

Slane is a unique concert venue. There is no major town or hotel base on the doorstep, and on a concert weekend of this scale, getting to and from Slane is going to be a serious consideration.

Once tickets start being allocated and bought, we expect huge demand for transport.

So our advice is simple:

REGISTER FOR YOUR OASIS TICKETS NOW.
🎟️ Then, the minute you secure your concert tickets — book your bus seat.

🚌 TheGigBus.ie will be running dedicated buses to Slane from:

📍 DONEGAL
📍 DERRY CITY
📍 TYRONE
📍 MONAGHAN
📍 ARDEE

No worrying about driving.

No searching for parking.
No worrying about getting home after the gig.

Just get on the bus, meet fellow Oasis fans and enjoy the journey. 🎶🍻

🌱 CONCERTS ARE BETTER TOGETHER.

Big gigs. Smaller footprint.

Instead of thousands of individual cars making the journey, travelling together means fewer cars, fewer emissions and a more sustainable way to get to one of the biggest concerts Ireland will see in 2027.

🌍 More fans. Fewer cars. One unforgettable night.

🔥 OASIS AT SLANE IS GOING TO BE HUGE.
🔥 BUS DEMAND WILL BE HUGE.
