Service ๐ค Technology
Briddge Legal & Finance are the perfect example of what payroll can look like when these two gears turn together โ๏ธ
As Jurren de Groot explains, great technology doesn't replace great service โ it creates more space for great providers to focus on what matters most. With Payzaar, Briddge has been able to reduce the burden of manual processing and give its team more time to support clients with the local expertise, strategic guidance, and hands-on care that sets them apart.
Technology creates capacity. People turn capacity into value.
The strongest provider models combine future-ready technology with industry-leading service to deliver a seamless, scalable client experience.
See how Payzaar helped Briddge put the gears in motion in the full case study video from our recent Amsterdam event ๐ https://buff.ly/bcmyJS4
Gears are designed to work together โ๏ธ
The service + technology relationship immediately jumped out when we looked at the results of our recent poll about Provider services:
โก Technology & integrations โ 49%
๐ค Quality of service & support โ 30%
๐ Analytics & global reporting โ 10%
๐ก๏ธ Compliance & risk management โ 7%
๐ฐ Commercial model โ 1%
๐ข Internal stakeholder engagement โ 1%
Nearly half of respondents said the one thing they'd improve about their current provider model is technology & integrations, while quality of service & support followed closely behind. Interestingly, commercial considerations ranked surprisingly low.
Enterprise expectations don't appear to be shifting away from service in favour of technology. Instead, they're raising the bar for both ๐
Technology increasingly shapes the day-to-day payroll experience through connected systems, seamless integrations, and efficient workflows, while great service provides the expertise and responsiveness that organizations rely on when complexity arises.
Perhaps that's the bigger takeaway from these results ๐ก
The conversation is becoming less about service versus technology, and more about how one strengthens the other. Even the best support teams shouldn't have to compensate for disconnected systems, and even the best technology still needs knowledgeable people behind it.
As we build our upcoming Industry Report, this balance continues to emerge as a defining characteristic of modern payroll, particularly as we enter the age of AI.
The Provider models creating the greatest long-term value won't simply excel at service or technology โ๏ธ They'll combine both to deliver a connected experience that keeps the whole payroll machine running smoothly.
"What used to take hoursโor even daysโnow takes the push of a button."
At our recent event in Amsterdam, Jurren de Groot from Briddge Legal & Finance shared how implementing Payzaar helped the firm accelerate internal operations and modernize its client experience.
โฑ๏ธ Saved 30-40% more time during the processing stage
๐จ๏ธ 30% faster incident resolution through centralized communication.
โ
๏ธ Automated data validation cut payroll errors in half.
Briddge is now expanding Payzaar across all 25 countries it serves ๐๏ธ
The next phase will focus on deeper client insights, greater real-time visibility, and further elevating their service model to support larger and more complex multinational organizations without growing headcount.

Just because everything is connected doesn't mean it's integrated ๐
An overloaded power strip might get the job done, but every addition introduces greater dependency and higher risk.
With almost half of payroll professionals plugging into 3-4 different systems during a payroll run (and many working across even more), the challenge is making sure those connections reduce complexity rather than multiply it.
Each additional system creates another handoff to manage. Another login. Another opportunity for input errors, duplicated work, or sensitive data leaks โ ๏ธ
Just as importantly, every switch adds to the manual burden on payroll teams through time spent validating information, reconciling data, and ensuring nothing gets lost between platforms.
As we build our upcoming Industry Report ๐ it's becoming clear that the future of payroll isn't about eliminating every touchpoint within an ecosystem. It's about creating a structure that allows isolated systems to work together seamlessly ๐
The next evolution of payroll will come from integrated platforms, harmonized workflows, and powerful orchestration layers that require less manual effort to keep systems running at full power โก๏ธ

๐ฉ๐ณ๏ธ You've Reached Automation Base Camp ๐ณ๏ธ๐ฉ
In the last poll result we shared, most payroll teams reported impressive advances in automation but still found themselves stuck in the early stages.
Once you've secured the early wins, reduced manual effort, and started building momentum, the next challenge is making the climb from base camp to the peak ๐๏ธ
The trek to the top is rarely a straight line and can often feel much steeper than the initial steps of the journey. So we asked:
What obstacles are blocking your path to further automation?
๐ Data not ready for automation โ 32%
โ๏ธ Legacy systems / tech constraints โ 31%
๐ค Resistance to change / approval โ 22%
๐ฐ Cost / budget limitations โ 8%
๐ข Providers slow to automate โ 7%
The biggest barriers are not budgets or provider capability. They're the foundations that automation depends on: Data, technology, and organizational alignment.
As Kevin Parker commented on our original poll, these challenges typically go hand in hand. Data readiness and resistance to change frequently reinforce one another, making effective change management just as important as the technology itself.
The first stage of automation is often about targeted improvements. The next stage requires stronger foundations, deeper integration, and broader leadership support.
Make no mistake, reaching Base Camp is an achievement ๐งBut the final climb to the summit is what turns automation into true systems transformation.
(And as the 2026 winners of the Automation and Integration Award ๐๏ธ at the Global Payroll Awards, we know a thing or two about this ๐)
ICYMI ๐๏ธ Payzaar won the Automation and Integration Award at the Global Payroll Awards in Sitges last week!
Another huge thank you to the Global Payroll Alliance for the recognition and to Melanie Pizzey for planning this wonderful evening for the payroll community ๐
We're feeling more inspired than ever at ! Stay tuned for even bigger things to come in the second half of 2026 ๐
Bufferingโฆ โณ
Payroll automation appears to be at an important checkpoint.
We recently asked: What percentage of your payroll process is automated today? โ๏ธ
0โ25% โ 24%
25โ50% โ 44%
50โ75% โ 24%
75โ100% โ 8%
Itโs encouraging to see more payroll teams moving past the halfway point, with a growing number now operating at higher levels of automation or even approaching full end-to-end adoption.
At the same time, more than two-thirds of organizations are still in the early stages of automating their payroll... And this is also worth applauding! ๐
The first steps of automation can be crucial and challenging, but often deliver the most visible gains through targeted efficiencies, task-level improvements, and quick operational wins that build momentum early.
Moving beyond that stage is where the complexity increases ๐ตโ๐ซ
The jump from partial automation to a fully tech-enabled payroll function requires deeper integration, cleaner data flows, and broader organizational alignment. As a result, progress often slows here, as implementation clashes with existing systems, workflows, and dependencies that were not originally designed with modern technology in mind.
Moving past this stage requires a shift in focus from automating individual tasks to rethinking how systems, data, and processes connect across the entire payroll ecosystem. This is where modern payroll platforms can help by providing a more connected foundation for integration, standardization, and growth.
With the right foundations in place, organizations can move beyond the intitial plateau and continue building an automated payroll environment at their own pace.
The goal isn't to rush to 100%. It's to make sure the progress bar keeps moving!
