Bantry/Skibb 18.5 boys travelled to Bandon on Friday evening. The sides met just 2 weeks ago in a tight game but Bandon had their full squad this time and made it difficult for the lads to get into the game from the first whistle. Bandon scored some early tries and limited Bantry/Skibb to very little possession. Once the game had gone Bandon’s way and they brought on their substitutes it was a much more even contest with Bantry/Skibb scoring 2 penalties and a converted try to nil in the second half. The boys really deserved this for all their hard work and effort. Best wishes to Jamie on a speedy recovery after receiving an injury at the end of the game.

💙 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION – ANDRE POLIVKA 💙

Some people volunteer for one job… and then there’s Andre! 🙌

Andre is one of those incredible people who seems to be involved in everything at Bantry Bay RFC — and somehow still finds the time to pull on the jersey and play with our Junior team! 🏉💙

Committee member, fundraiser, club gear designer, Junior team manager, helping with minis training, maintenance, and pretty much anything else that needs doing — Andre is always ready to get stuck in.

And then there’s the food! 👨‍🍳😂 From the incredible spread at our Golf Classic to the many other club events, we are very lucky to have such a talented chef in our volunteer family.

Andre is one of those people who doesn’t wait to be asked. If something needs doing, he’s there. If someone needs a hand, he’s there. Whether it’s on the pitch, behind the scenes, in the kitchen, designing club gear or helping raise much-needed funds, he gives his time and energy to our club in so many different ways.

That’s what volunteering is all about — giving your time, sharing your talents and simply getting stuck in.

Andre, thank you for everything you do for Bantry Bay RFC. Your commitment, energy and willingness to help wherever needed is truly appreciated.

We are very lucky to have you as part of our club family. 💙🏉
