Today, we joyfully celebrate the 75th Dedication Anniversary of Christ-the-King Anglican Church, Mackenzie, Linden.

From its humble beginnings in the late 1940s, when faithful Anglicans crossed the Demerara River to worship, to the construction of our beloved church in 1950 and its dedication on 9th June 1951, God has remained faithful throughout every generation.

For seventy-five years, Christ-the-King has stood as a beacon of worship, fellowship, service, and hope. Through outreach programmes, scholarships, support for community initiatives, and the establishment of missions throughout the Demerara River, our parish has faithfully answered God’s call to serve beyond its walls.

As we reflect on our rich heritage, we give thanks for the visionaries, clergy, parishioners, and community members whose dedication helped shape our church into what it is today.

May God continue to guide, strengthen, and bless Christ-the-King Anglican Church for generations to come.

💛Diocesan Youth Sunday 2026 💛

What a blessed Diocesan Youth Sunday we had as we celebrated under the theme “The Master Speaks and Makes Me Ready”!

The service was powerfully led by Bro. Jabauri Garner-Marshall, Immediate Past Chairman of the Guyana Anglican Youth Council. The Gospel and message were delivered by Bro. Corville Gillis, challenging and encouraging our youth to listen and respond to Christ’s call.

Our young people were fully engaged in worship doing the scripture readings from John, Psalm 68, Acts, and 1 Peter, collecting offerings, and bringing up the elements for Holy Communion, officiated by our Reverend Mother Karen Trapp. A special thank you to Little Johnson for the beautiful poem recited during the service.

We also took time to:
Celebrate birthdays for Sis. Oslin and Rev. Mother Trapp 🎂
Give thanks for the adult baptism of Bro. Junior 🙏
Hold a moment of silence in loving memory of the late Sis. Jenny George-Parkinson, for her years of faithful service to Christ the King.

Huge appreciation to Bro. Garner-Marshall and People’s Warden Sis. Johnson for the decorations, and to our Priest’s Warden for providing the materials. Refreshments were shared with all youth present, and the church was glowing in yellow as we stood united in colour and spirit! 💛

Thank you to everyone who supported our youth and made this day special. May we continue to be a church where the young and the seasoned walk together, lending a hand and building for God’s glory.

“The Master speaks… and we are ready!”

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sis. Jenny George-Parkinson, a beloved and long-serving member of Christ the King Anglican Church.

Sis. Jenny’s life was a beautiful example of faithful service and love for God’s house. From spearheading the Annual May Fair in the early years, to serving on the vestry, documenting the church’s history, and stepping in as organist and choir mistress the day after her mentor Mr. Milton Smartt’s funeral, she gave her time and talent without hesitation. Her dedication helped shape the life and memory of our church family.

Though aging and medical issues led her to step back from active service, her legacy of commitment, knowledge, and quiet strength remains with us. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and the many ways she nurtured the church community.

May the Lord comfort her family and all who mourn her. May her soul rest in peace, and may we find solace knowing she is now at rest in the presence of the God she served so faithfully.

Today at Christ the King Anglican Church, our hearts were filled with gratitude and joy as we celebrated Mother’s Day in a truly special way. 💐✨

The Mass was conducted by our Lay Minister, and during the service, tokens of appreciation were presented to the oldest and youngest mothers in honour of their love, strength, and dedication. Bouquets of flowers were also distributed to all mothers present as a small gesture of appreciation for the invaluable role they play in our families and community.

Special prayers and blessings were offered for the babies present and for members celebrating birthdays during the course of the week. Following the service, a delightful lunch was shared among all members in fellowship and thanksgiving. ❤️

As reminded in today’s Anglican liturgy, “Love one another as I have loved you.” May we continue to show love, care, and appreciation to the mothers and motherly figures among us each day.

“A mother’s love is the thread woven through every season of life.”

We extend sincere thanks to our Church Vestry, the Mother’s Union, and the Senior Ambassador Club for their hard work and dedication in making today’s celebration a memorable and meaningful one.

Greetings from the Youth Department!

Sunday May 17th is Diocesan Youth Sunday and we are looking forward to churches and youth groups observing this Sunday with the usual vibrancy and cooperation.

Our theme this year is: "Master Speak, and Make Me Ready!"

Theme Song: Hymn 530 (to be sung or played at an appropriate time during the service)

Youth Colour : Yellow (the Liturgical color for the day remains as White: appropriate yellow decorative ideas should be included and used around the church such as balloons, banners, ribbons etc.

Youths along with the Clergy and Lay Ministers at their Churches are expected as usual to plan together for Diocesan Youth Sunday. A Youth is expected to lead the Liturgy of the Word (Page 100 to 124 BCP- with the exception of the Blessing and Absolution which is to be done by the Priest) and youth groups are expected to organize themselves accordingly for the reading of Lessons, Ushering, Intercessions, Reading the Church Notices, etc.

Youths are also encouraged to be creative with this Year's Youth Theme for Poetry and Spoken word Renditions, Dances and Solo/Group singing to the congregation on Diocesan Youth Sunday.

✝️🐣 Easter Sunday Mass 🐣✝️

A joyous and spirit-filled celebration was held at Christ the King Anglican Church as we marked the glorious resurrection of our Lord. The Eucharist was celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Charles Davidson, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Guyana, also the church was filled with members rejoicing in the message: Jesus has risen!

A moving highlight of the service was Rt. Rev. Davidson singing the Gospel, uplifting hearts and deepening the worship experience.

The Blessing of the Water for Baptism during the church year was also conducted, reminding us of the sacred journey of faith we continue together.

The congregation participated in a beautiful moment of renewal, holding lighted candles as they reaffirmed their Baptismal vows an expression of faith, commitment, and spiritual rebirth.

Special prayers were offered and “Happy Birthday” was sung for members celebrating their birthdays, sharing love and blessings within our church family.

O God, who for our redemption gave your only-begotten Son to the death of the cross, and by his glorious resurrection delivered us from the power of our enemy: Grant us so to die daily to sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
