Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of welcoming more than 20 students and recent graduates to our offices as part of the YES Forum Open Day initiative.

During the visit, representatives from our departments shared insights into different aspects of the business and their professional experiences, followed by an engaging Q&A session with the participants.
It was inspiring to see the curiosity and enthusiasm of the next generation of maritime professionals.

We thank Young Executives Shipping (YES) Forum for organizing this initiative and look forward to continuing to support opportunities that empower future talent in the maritime industry.

As the year draws to a close, we took a moment to step back from our daily routines and "come together" across our offices. Through a Secret Santa exchange, colleagues connected in a simple and meaningful way.🎁✨

We also extended our impact beyond the workplace by purchasing cookies in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, contributing to an initiative that brings hope to children and families facing serious challenges.

We look ahead to 2026 with gratitude and purpose, and wish everyone a healthy, successful, and fulfilling year.💫

In September, A.M. Nomikos proudly took part in the 2025 OSCAR Dragon Boat Race, supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity and its life-saving work.
Despite the stormy skies and a very wet race day, the team pulled together and exceeded our fundraising goal — raising over £7,200 for the new Children’s Cancer Centre.

🩸Public Blood Donation!
We are glad to support the public blood donation organized by Bloode, taking place on Tuesday, September 9th, from 16:00 to 19:00, at the Kypseli Municipal Market.
✨We invite everyone who wishes to contribute to this life-saving initiative to join and donate blood. Every act of giving makes a difference.

In July, we had the honor of participating once again in a special event at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where the A.M. Nomikos Excellence Awards were presented for the second consecutive year.
As part of this initiative, the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering recognized top-performing graduates for their academic excellence and contributions. The selection was made by the School’s internal committee, with participation from our own John Karatolios (Technical Fleet Manager) and Eleni Laiou (Senior HR Generalist).
This year the A.M. Nomikos Excellence Awards were given to: Damanakis Iosif (🥇1st Place), Despoina Kousidi (🥈2nd Place), Tzanetos Ioannis (🥉3rd Place).

We would like to thank NTUA for their continued collaboration and excellent organization, and extend our warmest congratulations to all graduates—especially the award recipients! 🎓

In June, colleagues from both our Athens and London offices came together for a joint A.M. Nomikos CSR initiative, supporting our local communities through meal preparation and distribution.

With the help of Humanity Greece and Soup Kitchen London, our teams prepared meals for people in need, with London colleagues also joining in distributing them on the streets — a simple but meaningful way to give back.

Thank you to everyone in both offices who contributed their time and energy to this effort.

In March 2025, we had the pleasure of attending the Career Day organised by the YES FORUM at the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event welcomed 150 young professionals, 60% of whom were participating in a Career Day for the first time.
Through insightful discussions with our team, attendees gained valuable guidance on CV building and career prospects within our company while also experiencing the real-life dynamics of a job interview.

We are happy to support such initiatives that bridge the gap between young professionals and career opportunities.

We concluded our Summer 2024 Internship program at the end of September and would like to recognise the efforts of our interns.
During their time at A.M. Nomikos, they contributed to multiple projects across the departments, built professional connections, and gained valuable practical experience.
Welcoming interns to our team always brings fresh perspectives and plays an important role in our growth.

It’s been great working with them, and we look forward to seeing their future achievements!

In September, the A.M. Nomikos team took part in the 16th Race for the Cure, running 5km to support the fight against breast cancer.
We are grateful for the team's participation and remain committed to this important cause.

We’re pleased to share that our Head of IT, Yiannis Sofianidis, represented A.M. Nomikos at the Ship IT Conference in Athens on September 24, 2024.
His presentation, “A.M. Nomikos: The Way Forward in IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity,” provided valuable insights into our advancements in strengthening cybersecurity and IT systems across our fleet.

In September, our London office participated in the Thames Moonlight 10 Walk, raising £13,444 for St Catherine's Hospice, Crawley.
This charity offers vital support to individuals and families facing serious illnesses.
Our team walked 10 miles through London’s landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge. 🚶‍♂️🌙🌉

🎓 In July we had the honor of speaking at the graduation ceremony of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) to announce the launch of the "A.M. Nomikos Excellence" awards!

Three outstanding students from the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering program will receive an award & prize for their excellence - not only for their grades & dissertation, but also for their skills, such as critical thinking & presenting. This initiative aims to recognise dedication and hard work, and to support our next generation of industry leaders.
