The Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat (PSSG), is an Interstate Institution and Cooperation established in 2012 between The Republic of Senegal and The Republic of The Gambia, to reinforce the fruitful cooperation existing between the two countries.

The Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat is pleased to inform the Senegambian community that, in accordance with the high instructions of Their Excellencies the Heads of State of the Republic of Senegal and the Republic of The Gambia, who have given priority to dialogue, consultation, and the spirit of fraternity, a final agreement has been reached on the clear and mutually agreed delimitation of the border between the two countries.
The joint activities for the reaffirmation and densification of the southern border will resume effective 15 August 2026, covering the section from Touba Tranquil–Dar Salam to Saré Yoro Guèye–Jahanka.
The Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat extends its warmest congratulations to Honourable Alieu Njie, Chairman of the National Border Commission of the Republic of The Gambia, and Major General Cheikh M. L. B. Camara, Chairman of the National Border Management Commission of the Republic of Senegal, for their remarkable efforts, which made the successful conclusion of this agreement possible.

Le Secrétariat permanent sénégalo-gambien a le plaisir de porter à la connaissance de la communauté sénégambienne que, conformément aux hautes instructions de Leurs Excellences; les Chefs d’État de la République du Sénégal et de la République de Gambie, qui ont privilégié le dialogue, la concertation et l’esprit de fraternité, un accord définitif a été conclu pour une délimitation claire et consensuelle de la frontière entre les deux pays.
Les activités conjointes de réaffirmation et de densification de la frontière sud reprendront à compter du 15 août 2026, sur la partie Touba Tranquil – Dar Salam à Saré Yoro Guèye – Jahanka.

The Executive Secretary of the Permanent Secretariat Senegalo-Gambian was received on Friday, 24 July 2026, by Mr. Al Amine LO, Prime Minister of the Republic of Senegal. Their discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and monitoring the implementation of the agreements signed during the Senegalo-Gambian Presidential Council.

H.E. President Adama Barrow dispatched a mission to his brother, H.E. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal, following the incident that occurred at the Bullock Military Camp.
The delegation, led by the Honourable Sering Modou Njie, Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia, and including representatives of the Permanent Senegalo-Gambian Secretariat, was received with full honours.
During the visit, the two Heads of State exchanged warm messages reflecting the spirit of brotherhood, friendship, and the strong ties that unite The Gambia and Senegal.
The two Heads of State also instructed the competent authorities of both countries to take all necessary measures to ensure that such incidents never occur again.
The Permanent Secretariat Senegalo-Gambian warmly commends the two Heads of State, as well as their respective civilian and military administrations, for their professionalism.

Following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, father of the Emir of Qatar, the Executive Secretary signed the Book of Condolences on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, which was opened on this sad occasion at the residence of the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to The Gambia.
May God have mercy on the late Sheikh, and may his legacy continue to serve as a beacon for the present and future generations of Qatar and the world.

On 3 July 2026, the Executive Secretary received a delegation from the Association of the Senegalese Private Sector established in The Gambia.
On this occasion, H.E. Ambassador Papa Mada NDOUR warmly thanked the delegation for their visit and emphasized the important role of the private sector in strengthening and consolidating Senegalese–Gambian relations.
As part of his courtesy visits, the Executive Secretary was received today by the Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, H.E. Mr. Mohammed B.S. Jallow, former Deputy Executive Secretary of the Permanent Secretariat. This visit provided an opportunity for the Vice President to offer advice and guidance to the new leadership team of the Permanent Secretariat.

His Excellency Mr. Serigne Modou Njie, Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia, received the Executive Secretary of the Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat , Ambassador Papa Mada NDOUR, accompanied by his delegation, in audience on 29 June 2029.
The strength of Senegalo-Gambian relations was at the heart of their discussions. The Permanent Secretariat warmly thanks the Honourable Minister for his availability, warm reception, and valuable guidance.
