PLEASE don’t risk walking your dogs in these temperatures.

A dog never died from missing a walk.

Some alternative ideas for activities when walking isn’t appropriate:
Fill a paddling pool for some watery fun in the shade
Freeze a bowl of water with berries or vegetables in or freeze some bone broth - this helps with hydration too
Fill and freeze some toys like kongs or licky mats for a long lasting calm activity

Walks should only be done out of the sun and in the cool of the early morning or once the heat of the day has died down.

Another beautiful day out exploring Guernsey with this lovely bunch 🐾☀️

Fresh sea air, wagging tails, and plenty of happy paws on the move – it doesn’t get much better than this. So lucky to have such stunning scenery right on our doorstep 🌊🌿

Thank you to all our wonderful clients for trusting us with your dogs – We hope they’ve had the best time!

I don't support an annulment...

There’s been a lot said this week about scrapping the proposed dog walkers’ licensing in Guernsey.

I’ll be clear — I don’t support getting rid of it.

Our industry has grown quickly, and with that comes responsibility. We are trusted with people’s dogs, their homes, and their peace of mind. That should come with standards.

A licensing system isn’t a bad thing — it’s a necessary step forward.

Is it perfect? No.
Does it need refining? Absolutely.

But scrapping it altogether sends the wrong message and risks lowering standards at a time when they should be rising.

For those of us already operating professionally, safely and responsibly, licensing should not be something to fear — it should be something we stand behind.

This isn’t about making things harder for good operators. It’s about protecting dogs, supporting owners, and raising the bar across the industry.

Improve it, yes. Ignore it, no.
