We are delighted to have concluded a seamless sale yesterday of the property on which Octopus Restaurant traded down at the corner of Havelet Bay.

It was exactly ten years ago this month when we saw the vision, concept and opportunity to create our very own special restaurant on the old Half Moon Cafe site. So many people - professionals, friends, Octopus Team & colleague, suppliers and many others - helped us create the successful Octopus we all came to like and love.

We of course were so sad back in the winter of 2024 when the building was destroyed by a major fire, but we took a deep breath and began the process of thinking and planning our next steps. Although our intention, with the full support of our insurance broker networkinsuranceci and insurer was to speedily rebuild Octopus from the ashes, over time we came to realise that for us sadly rebuilding was just a step too far, and so after two years we have found a new owner to take on the wonderful redevelopment opportunity that this iconic site warrants - we wish them well with their plans.

After much thought and soul searching we have initiated and launched our new exciting hospitality offering 2frenchies.gg at Rue des Pre just up form Trinity Square, where we are now uniquely providing ‘a taste of real French’ boulangerie and patisserie produced daily by Mike and his new bakery team.

We have exciting plans to grow our lovely new business having recently secured other premises to roll out our brand for all of Guernsey to enjoy - more news and updates to follow over the next few months.

Looking forward, we are also so grateful to now have more time as a family with our two daughters, Lee-Lou and Théa. We want to create more precious memories with them, because the whole journey we created was always about them.

Finally, from our hearts, we thank everyone of our valued customers who have supported us over the years, you have all made our hospitality journey so much fun and enjoyable , we thank you for our success and look forward to seeing you again soon.
