Broken outdoor bins CANNOT be placed in the blue recycling bags.

They can be taken down to Longue Hougue Waste Centre and placed in the Rigid Plastics Skip free of charge.

📢 Delancey Park Play Area – Temporary Closure

Please be advised that the play area at Delancey Park will be closed to the public on Thursday 1st October while maintenance work is carried out on some of the equipment and the area is given a thorough tidy-up.

The play area will reopen once the work has been completed.

📍 Route Militaire - St Sampson's (between La Route du Braye and Saltpans Road)

ℹ Electricity service upgrades

A reminder that the northern end of Route Militaire will be closed from Monday 28th September for around 12 weeks to allow Guernsey Electricity to install service upgrades in the area. This is a continuation of works which took place earlier in the year, as part of their ongoing infrastructure improvements in the north of the island.

🚴 If you're cycling, you can still pass through the road closure if done with care and observing dismount signs.

🚗 If you're driving, a diversion will be in place along La Route du Braye, through The Bridge and along Bulwer Avenue.

🚌 Details of changes to the scheduled bus routes will be available on the buses app.

Upcoming Event at Delancey Park

Guernsey Atheletics Cross Country Event

From October to May they will be holding a soup kitchen on a Thursday 12noon till 1pm

The St Sampson Douzaine will be holding their monthly parish surgery on the Bridge outside The Mariners Inn from 10am till 12 noon this Saturday (19 September).

Douzeniers and Constables from St Sampson will be available, a Vale Douzenier and Community Police Officer will also be in attendance.

Please note in the event that the weather should be unfavourable, the surgery will relocate to the cafe area at The Salvation Army in Nocq Road.

2026 was our first year of entering the Britain in Bloom competition, and we were delighted to be awarded a Silver Gilt. So, to achieve that in our very first year was a fantastic result, and something we were all incredibly proud of.

We also won the Douzaine Award with a Gold, as well as First Prize for Best Floral Display.

None of these achievements would have been possible without the tremendous amount of hard work, dedication and enthusiasm from our Floral Committee and all of our wonderful volunteers.

So, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has given their time and effort over the past year. Your hard work has made all of this possible, and we are extremely grateful.
