💕 A new name, with room for more…

From Monday 5 October, Stitch in Time Bears will become Created in Love.

Memory bears and treasured keepsakes will remain part of the business, alongside a changing collection of handmade gifts, home items and everyday reusables.

Think book covers, bags and purses, baby items, fabric art, cushions, sewn greetings cards, embroidered handwriting and engraved wooden gifts. There’ll also be practical makes such as waxed wraps and bowl covers, with recycled and repurposed fabrics used in some projects. 🌿

There won’t be one fixed collection—I enjoy mixing things up, trying different ideas and finding lovely ways to use the materials available.

The name Created in Love reflects my Christian faith and the care behind everything made here: pieces with purpose, gifts with meaning and memories to treasure.

You’ll still find everything on this page, simply under its new name from Monday. Thank you for supporting this little handmade business. 🤍

🧸💕ORDER BOOK UPDATE 💕🧸

For now, unfortunately, I won’t be reopening my Memory Bear order book as planned.

Following some recent health news and further tests, I don’t want to take on orders or promise dates that I may not be able to fulfil.

Each memory bear takes me around 2½ days to make properly, and when I’m not feeling well that can be quite difficult to manage alongside everything else.

Instead, I’m going to take things week by week. When I know I have the time and capacity to make a bear, I’ll contact people already waiting and offer spaces individually if they are still wanted.

I completely understand that some of you may have particular dates or deadlines in mind, and if you need to find another maker who can guarantee a timescale, please don’t feel bad about doing that at all. ❤️

I’m simply taking the pressure of deadlines away for a little while and creating at a pace that works for me at this time .

✨ A little business update ✨

Over the next few months, you’ll probably notice there will be fewer memory bear posts on the page.

I’ll still be making bears, and I still absolutely love creating something so special from treasured clothing, but I’m keeping my bear bookings limited up to Christmas so I can give myself a little more space to get creative and explore even more of the things I love making. 🧵🪡

I really do love all things creative — sewing, embroidery, personalised gifts, trying new ideas and bringing those ideas to life — so alongside the bears, you’re going to start seeing a much wider mix of creations appearing on here.

And there’s another exciting change coming too… 👀

Over the next few weeks, the business will be getting a new name. ✨

It feels like the right time for the name to reflect how the business is growing beyond just memory bears and into so many more creative things.

It’s still me, still handmade, still created with lots of love — just with a little more room to grow, experiment and create. 💕

It’s definitely been all about the embroidery here for the last couple of days 🧵✨

I’ve finally had the chance to sit down, properly play with the software and learn just how much I can create with it… and I’m a little bit obsessed 😂💕

From personalised workwear and beautiful embroidered designs, to your own handwriting turned into a keepsake, there are so many possibilities.

I’m really excited to be able to offer more bespoke gifts, keepsakes and personalised items, all created right here by me. ❤️

I’m now offering machine embroidered handwriting swatches — a beautiful way to preserve the actual handwriting of someone special and turn it into something you can keep forever.

These can be created from a handwritten note, card or message and stitched onto a fabric swatch in your chosen shape and colour.

Perfect for adding inside a wedding dress as your “something blue”, or for memory bears, cushions, quilts, clothing and other keepsakes.

There’s something so special about keeping their exact words and handwriting with you — not recreated in a font, but taken from the real handwriting itself and transformed into embroidery. 💙

✨ From Prom Night to a Forever Keepsake… ✨

This beautiful unicorn has been lovingly handcrafted from a prom dress worn in 2010.

Although the dress looked full and flowing, there was actually very little usable fabric for the larger pattern pieces. That meant every cut had to be carefully planned to make the most of every precious scrap.

The original pleated bodice has been recreated across the unicorn’s chest, the luxurious velvet has been added to highlight the ears, muzzle and hooves, and even the dress linings have been incorporated to ensure as much of the original dress as possible lives on in this keepsake.

Plenty of hand sewing beads, carefully placing them one by one to preserve the sparkle and elegance of the original gown.

No two memory keepsakes are ever the same. Every garment presents its own challenges, but that’s all part of creating something truly unique—giving treasured clothing a new life while preserving the memories stitched into every thread.

I hope this unicorn will be treasured for many years to come and always bring back memories of a very special night. 🦄💖
