Food Is Fun CIC
Food Is Fun is a social enterprise promoting healthy eating through exploring food in an exciting and fun way! Instagram - @foodisfuncic
We use cookery demonstrations, tasting and hands-on activities to educate people in the benefits of healthy eating and to improve overall health and wellbeing. We are a Community Interest Company with a social purpose. All profits from our events and demonstration kitchen hire go back into Food is Fun to enable us to continue the valuable work we do for communities. Every event is tailored to the specific needs of the audience which makes us unique in our approach as we guarantee maximum impact. We work with children, families, older people, schools, communities - in fact there isn't anyone we don't work with! We pride ourselves on working in partnership with other organisations and supporting companies to offer a more joined up approach. We are always looking for new supporters. πΏ Iβm now recruiting for my next research group! πΏ
Iβm currently looking for women who are experiencing perimenopause to take part in my PhD research exploring what this transition means for womenβs identity, sense of self and everyday experiences.
This is an opportunity to share your story, your experiences and your perspective because every womanβs experience of perimenopause is different.
Participation includes:
β¨ An initial interview
π Creative reflection activities, including journaling, photography and other creative methods
π¬ A follow-up interview to reflect on your experiences
No artistic experience is needed; the creative activities are simply another way to express and explore your experiences.
There are a limited number of spaces available in the next group.
If you are interested in taking part or would simply like to find out more, please send an email to me at [email protected], and Iβll be happy to provide further information. π
Your experience matters. Your voice matters. And your story could help us understand perimenopause in a different way.

We can't wait to get those sardines on the barbecue this Saturday 20th from 12-2pm. Come and say hello and enjoy the Gansey Gathering Sardine Festival at Commercial Wharf thanks to The Conscious Sisters π¦π¦π¦π¦
Come rain or shine we will be marking Plymouth's fishing heritage this Saturday 20th June from 11am to 4pm.
Be part of Plymouth's first ever Gansey Gathering Sardine Festival at Commercial Wharf including a free sardine BBQ sponsored by Interfish.
Entertainment will include shanty groups The Seagals and Seaweed in the Fruit Locker, alongside marquees with hands-on coastal crafts such as crab pot making and fish skin leatherwork. There will also be storytelling and story walks for those who want to find out more about our fishing heritage.
Plus in true fisherman fashion we hope to see one hundred local people wearing Janner Ganseys on the day to celebrate Plymouth's coastal heritage and the traditional Gansey fishing jumper.
You can also discover more about our new project titled Adrift which features the UK's oldest and youngest fishermen as part of an exciting new artwork celebrating the Gansey fishing jumper.
This project is funded by Arts Council England, POP Collectives and Crowdfunder
Pop the date in your diary for this weekend and enjoy a free, fish-themed event for all the family.
