Please join us at the Penarth Repair Café on Sunday October 25th to celebrate the tenth anniversary of International Repair Day https://repairday.org/- the annual celebration for everyone who makes repair happen in their communities!

After a successful September repair cafe, our volunteers are looking forward to a special October café - joining communities all over the world celebrating giving new life to household items that need some attention and reducing the waste we send to landfill.

Join us at St Augustine’s Parish Hall from 2-4:30pm and bring along any items in need of repair for our volunteers to take a look at, free of charge. Or just pop in for a cuppa and homemade piece of cake.

At our September cafe, 16 household items were fixed including vacuum cleaners, three pairs of jeans, and an antique clock from Switzerland. Do also pop in if you have any skills you think could be useful and would like to join the team. Join us at St Augustine’s Parish Hall or email us at [email protected].

Bydd ein gwirfoddolwyr hyfryd, eu drwsio (neu o leiaf rhoi sail bendith ar ailgylchu y hen hen radio yna sy wedi bod ar gwaelod y cwpwrdd am 5 mlynedd, achos, yn drist iawn, dydy e ddim yn gallu cael ei achub!!!)

Are you suffering with unraveling hems? Is that hole in the crotch of your jeans getting too big to risk bending over? Never fear - our trusty sewing volunteers are here!

Not sure if you should finally throw away that lamp that won't switch on.... whether the mower has actually died, or whether the noise is just the spout from Millie's* toy teapot, wedged deep inside the mechanism going around and around (sounds absolutely terrible, fixed in minutes!!!)

*Some names have been changed....

See you there tomorrow - you bring the misbehaving electrical items, we'll bring the screwdrivers (and cake....)

Our fantastic volunteers are repairing for free until 4 today at St Augustine’s Parish Hall.

Bring your electrical items, clothes, bikes and general repairs (toys, clocks etc) and we have cake!

The Penarth Repair Cafe team has been opening its doors to since June 2018. Offering to sew up holes in clothes, fix lamps, record players, TVs, laptops and other household items and we are now looking for new likeminded recruits.

Are you handy with a screw driver, great with a needle and thread or experienced in fixing jewellery and would you like to join the team?

We open once a month, excluding August and December and volunteers attend when they can.
